Slow Cars....

You should race the integra that tufte has. Same mods as you I believe, just an intake correct me if I'm wrong, and crappy old VTEC. Plus its like old
see how that race turns out
Also I would like to re-race you and Rob's SVT with me driving the focus. Take a look at this way you got 6 cylinders, he has 4 not to mention he's BONE STOCK. Sure you might have an auto, but you seem to love that "tiptronic" shifter, but I'll take a geartrag anyday of the week man. Hands down the SVT>V6 Tibby, Auto or manual. Mag race it, real time race it, whatever you want man. Take the loss and accept it.
P.S My civic ran a 16.5 with roughly 500+ lbs of sound equipment in it as well. Also my first time at the track, and inexperienced with a manual, I'm positive that thing would've pulled a MINIMUM Mid 15 without system and a decent driver. This was down in south dakota.

Gravedigger, I am going to agree w/ Drake on this one, you will get OWNED by GSR Nick. Now, when you talk about vtecs, are you saying that ALL honda's are slow or rather that VTec's are slow? If you're talking all hondas, I have a friend that will take issue w/ that...500+ WHP @ 9000 RPM w/ a dyno slip to prove it. Currently his car is down, needs new rings (his last mechanic kinda messed that up for him). I'm not saying that you can't make your car fast, I just think you are running your mouth a bit w/o knowing all the facts out there. Fact is there are some DAMN FAST hondas in this world.

now VTEC-E...well that just plain sucks go ahead and make fun of that all day

-
Dudem you dont have the time it takes us true manuals to shift, you have Shift tronic, NO CLUTCHING OR WAITING. You have positive excelleration all the time. I know you beat me, but lets get this straight, i an putting out 125HP STOCK, add exhaust and its like 135HP. Your car is doin alot more than that.
-
GSR and Tuftes civic would own you.
-
Quite frankly a B16A2 civic straight up would own you if your best time is 16.1. A bone stock 6th gen SI would own you.
I'm not trying to rain on your parade it's just...well.....I don't make fun of cars with more potential then mine. Not saying your tiburon doesn't have potential but Honda's are pretty easy to work on and are very capable, depends on the application really. You don't see me going to a DSM and go "your car blows yada yada yada" is his car cheaper mine? Yes? Does it have more potential? Hell yes. Any car can be made fast, I've seen Suzuki Trackers run 12's and video clips of Metro's blow some insane trap speeds. You can trash talk a particular person's car if you can back it up that's fine, but to broadly state that "Brand X sucks ass" when brand X has clear potential that has been put into place for YEARS and has a forefront much larger then yours, in this case people been tuning Honda motors for much much much longer then they have Hyundai. You have to sit back and relax sometime, that's all I'm saying...

Technically the first vtec found to the commercial public I believe.
Not a very fair comparison though....
one car found on proven F1 technology - NSX
the other found on budget performance and styling - tiburon. -
yeah what do nsx's run stock...way faster than his 16.1 tibby...althought you have to pay 40k more for the car.
-
Haha, yeah, let's see how that race turns out. Hmmm, bone stock, it's been rumored. He's running what times with that again? I believe it, but not that's it's stock, they must have done something to it. Dake, you don't know the manual tib for nothing man, I take a lot bigger loss. As for the 6th gen SI, is that the last gen, if not if it's not any better, I would own it actually, the new ones have 160hp, that means I own it. I like rob's SVT but he could not beat a manual tib, if I was that close to him, no way. A manual tib, which I wish I had anyway cause I can drive a manual, and I can prove it to anybody, acutally, I do it better full throttle, a manual tib could beat the focus, they can do a 15.5 stock. I never said I could beat or anything about tufte's teggy, and telling me to race a car twice as fast is pointless, that's kinda why I named it slow cars. I think I do pretty good considering I am auto, and take a bigger loss, and am only rated at 170hp. You can take almost anything and make it fast, but you can make a tiburon faster than most, for less money. For 5,000 less than a evo, I could have a tiburon, and make it push over 300whp.

This is Drake GF.. and all I have to say is HAHAHA.... even I know that the Tiburon is a slow ass...

92-94(1st gen) around 13.6. next gen is a little slower, about 14.1. the newest(03-04)=around13.2

own3d.i like how he says vtecs suck and are worthless pieces of shit, so we give him some vtecs to race just to prove it, and then puts his tail back between his legs.

\This is all I have to say about V-tecs, they are good on other stock cars, in a stock slow car world, but then once anyone or anything gets F/I, bye bye v-tec. Once I get my stuff done, I promise you, I will pretty much beat every V-tec in this area, not counting someone that I don't know about that's beefing up just for me, after this post, but, including the s2000's. This was not an attack on anyone or anything. It's just a forum. No flaming, and no fast cars.Very very bold statment you make there especially w/o knowing whats in the area other than what you see on this board
Why do you keep referring to cars stock horsepower like its a comparison. If you want a comparison, you have 170hp and run what? I have 167hp and run 13.0 non VTEC. So idk wtf you keep making these unrelative comments for.
Lastly until you've got your 300hp quit ranting about it either do it or stop shut up about it.

Im 100% stock dude... and I have raced many heavy ass tibs with 6-speeds and have handed their asses to them in a paper bag. I know a dude that pulled a 15.3 stock in his SVT not a single thing done to it at all. There isnt a single tib that can do that their just heavy overweight bitches. Im up for a race... T/C or no T/C ill still kick your ass... oh and from a roll your going to want to sell your car when im done with you. The SVT is one of the most under rated stock cars on the market and with a small amount of modifications it sees way higher gains then the tiburon. I have a chance to pick up a jackson racing supercharger kit for my car for $1500 add another $250 for a 2.4 pulley putting me at 8.5psi and id hit high 13's and push 250whp and 220wtq with no lag... because its not a turbo.
I think your starting to realize your car is never going to be fast dude. Its ok man I used to drive a kia... just gotta get something different. I know somebody with a nice RSX for sale... We all know how much you like Vtec. Or if you think the 6-speed tib is so fast... buy one of those. Im tired of bench racing your ass lets get this done ill be in town tonight after autovations.
Peace!

I don't remember seeing a tiburon out at the track last night but I saw a lot of honda powered cars running anywhere from 14's to nearly 17s. Also saw a few trucks out there and not one broke into the 15s. But who cares, they were out having fun and hopefully improving from last time.
I have to say to tiptronic isn't that great. Think about it, it's still a slush box and it's still robbing you of massive power. It differs from car to car but take a look at the difference it makes on the Mazda 6
155-165 WHP for the 6s ATX
175-185 WHP for the 6s MTX
125-130 WHP for the 6i ATX
140-144 WHP for the 6i MTXThat ATX is robbing some serious power. You probably have to spend a lot more money than the ATX is worth to gain back that much power. Even still, you're always down compared to a comparitively modded MTX version of the same car. Tiptronic is also not making up for that loss by shifting quicker than an MTX, which I would argue it doesn't on most of todays electronically controlled transmissions. You can just as easily manually shift an ATX but pulling it down to 1st and moving it up as you go.
The other thing ATX cars have against them is, in street form, how do you launch them and get good 60' times? Neutral drop? Power brake? Both are going to kill an ATX quicker than a clutch and cost more to replace to boot.
