the whole motors go bad pretty early in life without very meticulous maintenance.

That's the most bigoted, stupid thing I've ever heard in my life. Surely people who have never owned a rotary powered car should not make comments about its reliabilty?

They are reliable just like a cylinder motor. You just have to treat em right. Zac is one of my good friends. We sometimes catch ourselves sitting in the garage staring, talking, and drooling. He just got his efini badges on the car, they look badass.

what is false about my statement. If you're not very good about maintaining it's not a good vehicle to own, plain and simple.

i have heard horror stories about rotary in this type of climate....im not saying that everyone has problems with them but i would never buy one based on some of people's experiences

There are things you can do to make a rotary last just as long as any other motor. Heat is a major issue w/ these motors and should be one of the first areas to be addressed. Keep the rotary cool and the apex seals will last significantly longer. I've always like the simplicity of the rotary...only 3 moving parts inside the block and also the high rev capabilities. The motor itself is genious and the RX7 is a proven track car.

we have only done a few engines on the rotoray that needed more then just the apex seals...check out what you can get for performance with the 3 and even the 4 rotor race motors

oh, i wasn't saying that the apex seals are the only thing that goes wrong, just a common failure.
