i think i am just going to go with the greddy kit. Im not going to be running any insane amounts of boost, prolly 7-8psi. and the greddy kit comes with everything except the following to be able to run it:

    Fuel pump
    Injectors
    Boost Controller
    Fuel Preasure regulator
    BOV
    Boost Guage

eventually i would get an intercooler and new piping, but that would be later on.

So for 1400 plus the cost of the Injectors, Fuel Preasure reg, BOV, MBC, Fuel pump and boost guage that will be good enough for me.

Your gonna make about 150whp. The Greddy kit does not come flanged for a BOV. Definatly no need for all that fuel using a Greddy kit.

the BOV and fuel stuff are for when i crank up the boost past the stock 5.5psi. i have done shitloads of research on the greddy kit and if you go past the stock boost settings they recomend a boost guage, BOV, FMIC, Injectors, Fuel pump, Fuel Preasure regulator and of course, lots of tuning. They say E-manage can handle any amount of boost unless it requires some massive injectors like 800cc and i am planning on running about 7-8 sometime this summer. But for now just the greddy kit will be fine.

also, i forgot to mention that the greddy kit after you upgrade the fuel system and get a BOV and front mount, is good for 15psi.

              Your motor isn't though!!!

There's a concept here on how to make power and still use the stock motor w/o running that much boost.

i know that my motor cant handle it, i was just stating the facts. there are alot of people on HT that are running 10-14psi on the stock fuel system, which i dont understand.

i dont get you harwood...why wont you listen to what nick is saying? im sure he knows a hell of a lot more about this stuff than you, so i don't get why you keep on saying something is "really good" when somebody with a lot of experience is saying not to get it...that and after everything with the greddy kit you are still gonna spend $2kish...so why not just get it done right for $500 more? isnt quality worth anything to you man?

Im not saying the Greddy kit isn't good... It's a decent kit, but for the $$ it's not the bang for the buck i would look for in a turbo kit. It's built to suit everyone and be conservative.

oh, i see what you are saying man...im totally on your side with this still...i dont get why he would spend 2k on that stuff when he could get a better quality setup for a bit more...his money though, we can just laugh at him when we see him in our rear view mirrors 😄

Btw you guys, the reason why i would get the greddy kit is because of the reliability. The greddy kit is very reliable, moddable, comes with E-manage, and bolts right up(no welding or cutting) IM not saying i couldnt get a more powerful kit, but i want it to be as stretable as possible and this is also my daily driver. im not looking to be the fastest civic in the world here, i am just hoping to be able to break the 13's and possibly 12's. and torbs, this isnt just a race car like yours, this is also going to be a nice car too, so i dont need anything that puts down tons of power, im just looking to turbo my civic. I am not saying that tufte is wrong, im just not looking for a super powerful kit. If i was looking for a really powerful kit i would buy his turbo kit for a little more. Also, i am not planning on upping the boost from the stock 5.5psi for a couple months after i get the kit. so it would be 1400 plus install and tuning. than i would get a clutch, FMIC, BOV, MBC, and some more tuning. so it is just what i am looking for.

so are you saying the SLS kit isnt reliable? i think nick might have somthing to say about that...

god damn kid, you say shit that i dont even say. The greddy kit is one of the most reliable kits out ther on a stock motor. SLS's kit would be harder on my motor because i would push it more. Plus the greddy kit is one of the most reliable, streetable, carb legal kits out there. I would love to have SLS's kit, but its not really what im looking for. If i was building a strict race car yes, but i wouldnt spend that much to turbo a more show car that race car, also because i have to do alot of body work too, bodykit and paint. the money i would save going the greddy way i would spend on my body kit.

I'm gonna have to stick up for Harwood here. I also have no doubt that nick could build a more powerful kit than this and still be reliable, but I think what he's saying is that for the money HE FEELS THIS IS HIS BEST OPTION. Unless you're financing his build you shouldn't care what he does. Enough of the e-fighting, this shit gets old. Good luck on you car Harwood I hope your car turns out the way YOU want it to.

As far as show goes, the Greddy is far from a flashy kit. Harwood you got a lot of things to learn about forced induction. The Greddy kit is not going to net you better than low 15's on 5.5 psi. To get that thing into the 12's your gonna need 200+whp. W/ that TD04/5 you're gonna need to push 12+ psi. Boost is not what kills motors, amateurs w/ poor tuning blow motors. I got my hatch right now between 12-14 psi and its going strong. Lastly my car gets 40mpg on the highway!!

I know its poor tuning that kills a motor, i am not going for really flashy either, and i know i will be pushing high wmounts of boost to get into the 12's.

BTW: hell ya on the 40mpg
