Total fucking hippie... I beat the piss out of the car on a pretty regular basis. But not enough that at 25k miles its ready to blow up. Either way if it does or if anything major wrong with it its replaced for free.

So how realistic is this turbo idea? If it happen's you should be sitting in the 13's I would hope.

Well I visited SLS about 3 weeks ago talked to kevin got a quote and had him check the shit out... now im working on getting the funds together and figuring out what ill be driving for a week or two while my car sits in the shop.

Sold my snowmobile I just bought this fall and can get a loan for the project whenever I want just gotta sign a couple papers and the money is mine. Problem is the car isnt feeling to good right now, and I dont have another mode of transportation right now for the time my car will be sitting in the shop.

I dont know if im going to go with the garrett T3/T4 kevin suggested because ill only be making low boost ( 10psi for a daily driver ) And I dont want to have to have the turbo lag for such small boost. Also I have had some SVT focus owners tell me that anything above 9psi causes detonation. I dont know about that being ill have a bigger fuel pump and bigger injectors along with dyno tuning and a ecu reflash.

So once my car goes in and I find out whats wrong with it. And I get a couple of other things figured out... then ill probably finish this little conquest.

          I ride random bitches.

You could push a little more boost with out detonation if you get a thicker head gasket ( If they make one for the SVT ). Sound like a good plan man, can't wait to see it in action/race it if any of my cars ever get fast.

Thicker head gaskets for SVT are only custom made... stock compression is 10:2:1 on this car... Car can handle boost... forged rods and oil squirters in the block... so it was made with the high compression in mind, but I couldnt get a clear answer on why it would detonate.

The only company that makes turbo kits for the SVT is a guy name Turbo Tom. His personal turbo SVT is his daily driver and for track days he raises the boost to 17psi. He has only bigger injectors dyno tuning and a new clutch... internals are stock. He put down 320whp and didnt have any problems... so I dunno what those guys were talking about perhaps they were talking about no dyno tuning.

Anyway yeah I hope to get it done soon.

hey man, welcome, i think i've seen you around...i'm in the red vw corrado. not many people have heard of the car but it's vw's last true sporty hatchback. i got the 2.8l vr6 in it with exhaust. sounds like you and me would be a good race at interstate dragways...i ran a 15.7 with bad launch and bad tires...i should be able to pull mid 15's no problem.

This has to be the oldest thread posted on in a long ass time. 6-27-2004? Anyways, hope that things get straight with the Focus.

Yeah kinda funny... can thank lank for that one.

Anywho the fuckus is fine apparently I had an O2 sensor go out and it was fucking with a bunch of stuff... I bottomed my car out snapping the one where my header connects to the cat right off... causing a louder exhaust note, a nasty sulfer smell from the exhaust ( dealer told me this ), and my engine would pitter patter from time to time. Also they blamed my horrible gas milage ( roughly 12 miles to the gallon ) on the O2 sensor too.

Well its replaced everything is good gas milage is back just in time, no more shit smell, no more loud exhaust notes, and thank god no more CEL light. But I might be moving to Nevada within a month or two so I dont know if my car will be going to SLS or not. If my job situation down there works out im gonzo... if not then im staying in fargo and going to force feed the ford.
