Poll on STi or EVO MR
-
i actually voted sti even though im madly in love with evos. i watched top gear test the mr and they picked the sti as well because the mr's turbo is too big for the motor to start to spool until like 4k rpms. they had a roll race against some pos underpowered family sedan and it actually beat the mr because it just couldnt hit boost quick enough.

evo just because i dislike the wing and the hood scoop on the sti. fucking dsm based message boards...

the evo turbo is only a 16g...twin scroll at that...it doesnt lag that bad
i watched that thing to that evo had bad turbo lag in fifth gear and that fiat beat it by 300 ft
i would take the sti cause get a 98-99 jdm sti
got to love the looks of those cars  but then again evo's are the shit -

I actually voted for the EVO from a pure performance aspect of it over a broad range of scenarios. I'd probably buy an STi out of loyalty to Subaru however and since there are just marginal differences between the two its really too close to call, I'd be willing to bet that most of us in here would have a hard time putting up a consistently better time in either of them.
That being said, what you should have asked is which is better, EVO MR or STi Spec C. In which case the Spec C would be the hands down winner. I was watching a clip the other day where some supercar engineers were driving a Spec C on a track and were basically outraged at the handling and drivability of the Spec C for the cost. Somewhere in there they said that the Spec C is hands down the best car dollar for dollar of any car on the planet...there were no compromises.

Amen Brotha!!!!!!!!!!

Kirk would have to agree with me that they are both pretty much the same car between the EVO and the STi.... i've driven his and he's driven mine... i just prefer mine cause i've driven it more... and i'm sure he prefers his cause he's driven his more...

^except the poll is for an evo mr...not an evo.

i voted STI because i love the big wing.

oopps shit...i was thinking of the evo RS...it doesnt have a wing.

Im picking the STi for lots of reasons...
Evos have some problems it seems but idk bout the MR
Tjams is right this poll is off cuz it shoul have been the EVOvs STi not EVO MR vs the STi
almost every article i read about the EVO vs STi said that the power was way better in the STi, EVO's run at 19psi and are kinda laggy. Also handling to the EVo was only slightly better than the STi...why? Said that the Evo came w/ more aggressive suspension cuz the STi was built to still be civil to the market out there and came w/ lower spring rates. Also they said the interior felt cheap in the EVO compared to the STi and the interior is how its been since some of the first Evo vs STi comparisons oversees. I think the seats in the STi blow however compared to the EVO's. The EVO's seats feel like my JDM seats from an STi Version 6, but the US STi seats are made for us FAT Americans and suck
Basically the STi is sweet i love it, its got the DCCD differential and the Evo doesnt
Trow some STi pink springs on ur STi and it will handle better than the EVoBut wait till the Spec C gets here...im sure it will be impressive but not nearly as impressive as the cars they already get in japan
I read that they tested a JDM WRX STi Version 8( with a 2.0 mind u) vs a US WRX STI (w/ the 2.5) and the JDM STi had a lap time 2seconds better than the US Version. Just goes to show you how potent those cars are over there, and how things get marketed here, Hence the springs on the STi
So in all reality even our performance cars here in the states arent that great

I think my seats are fuckin pimp. I dunno what youre talking about.
