Do you have any pics of the car?

Jared, it's good to see you. How come you aren't calling yourself hacksaw?

Why do you have a 9" axle in your motor?Remember, "Keep your GM car all GM". Tee - hee - hee.
Actually, though, there's no reason you had to replace the drain plug.
-
yea i dont know why those pics came out so small or why it double posted the first one. no i dont have any pics of the car on my computer. i will put the pics of my 78 on when i get it to town. the 79 is the rusty teal one in town. you will hear it before you see it. I am not going to even try to fix the body on this one too much bondo. Thats what the 78's for.
work smarter not harder. -
Since When do you believe in workin smart? BTW, when are you going to fix the car trailer? I think YOU broke it when you put the Le Mans in the ditch with it!

-
 putting it all in the motor, no frills, they way it should be

I assume that you are not going to bench test it first but what are your expectations as far as hp/tq once you get it rolling?

im looking for around 400 hp and like torque. no idea how close i am though. i plan on throwing it on the dyno this summer when i have more miles on her. Im 50 miles into the break in and she will already rost the 295/50 15's so its looking good. I want to see how much power she has past 3000 rpm but i dont want to take it that high tell im at atleast 100 mi. then maybe at 500 mi i'll bring her to 6000. etc. i like the new rings i can feel the differance from the standerd rings to the ZGS rings. no blowby either.
-
hey chris if one of your old boats can tow the trailer over i'll weld her up. and maybe i mean its a long shot but it might have bent when you put the 12000 lb fire truck on it. just a thought.

-
Good LORD. That sounds sweet. I don't think I could adhere to a break-in period. I would be that guy that says, "if no one sees, then it's ok... just this once." Otherwise, I would be rolling down 13th, with a death-grip on the wheel, shaky right foot, sweaty brow, grinding teeth, etc.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you spend on that motor? i'm asking because I'm tallying my expenses related to boosting/spraying my jalopy and I'm thinking I could have done a LOT better in terms of hp/$. I probably spent more $ on power adders than you did for your car and motor combined

Oh, come now, Jared. The firetruck doesn't weigh 12,000 pounds!!!
It weighs 15,000, and gross, I might add.

But you may be right, the trailer is visibly bent in the towing pictures.
