I had problems with mine a few months ago. Me and JW replaced it. Although I drive a blazer...I dont know if that would help you out any.

We've come to the point where no extraordinary preformance can occur without the presumption that someone has cheated.

what is it doing? Shredding? cracking?

look at the belt while it's running, make sure it's tracking on all the pulleys right. Check the tension, etc. is it the original belt? Any work done to any of the accessories (that are pulley driven?) (that could possibly lead to a pulley being [setup] wrong...

what does the wear pattern look like? If it's cracking, it's just worn...
if outside ribs are damaged, then pulley alignment is off somewhere/somehow...
if it's the center of the belt damaged, either the center ribs or the back, something is rubbing most likely...

haven't dealt with the focus much (at all), so I wouldn't know if there's a TSB or known issue with the belts...

it was worn on the block side, on the top side of the belt, and the ribs all looked fine... i just took it in this afternoon and made ford pay for it... kinda nice having warrenty.

I just hit 12k on my 04 and no problems there... I know our cars have a shitty clutch in them and SVT re-issued a new clutch and flywheel for the car due to its premature clutch wear. If your clutch is slipping at all bring it in and have them replace it. Also what year is your car? 02 03 have a new flash out for the ECU that helps with surging, lowers the rpm at which the 2nd intake runner opens... and some other small issues... id also look into that if you dont have a brand new one.

Mine is running good... no clutch slip or anything, although I noticed when I give it hell im smelling a burning smell... not sure what it is but it almost smells like oil. And today when I shut it off I heard a rattling sound and it was sputtering at the stop sign. I might have fried some rings or something... and the rattling I guess the Throw out bearing likes to go so they have a new updated one for that too.

Thank god for the warranty huh? And I used to work at the dealership in town so I can mod mine without having to worry unless I boost it.

Check out focusfanatics.com, focaljet.com, and clubfocus.net and ask some of those guys about it.

                  Peace!

no im pretty sure they didn't, but if it goes again im going to go back there and they can fix it again the right way

i noticed the clutch don't like being ripped on too much, slipped a few times on me... but other than that i have the 03 and i don't like the traction control too much..

I can make you a bypass switch for it so it totally shuts it off... but you wont have ABS when its off. I can launch hard without bogging down now because of the stupid T/C.

That switch disables it to the point that any wheels spin under 25mph is slowed down with the breaks until wheel spin is done. Its stated right in your owners manual. I have a switch in mine that turns it off completely... can do huge smoky burn outs now and everything without bogging... can burn through 2nd gear smoking.

I havent mounted it yet but im going to drill a small hole into my fuse panel and mount it there... when I go in for warranty service im going to un hook the switch and just tell them it was for something like underbody lights or of the such. The switch doesnt do anything to mess with your car but im sure they would use it as a reason to void your warranty. And the wiring is one thing you really dont want to mess with along with the ECU thank god we only have to reflash our ECUs and not switch them out.

Ill make you one up and get it to you some time... perhaps this weekend!

                                Peace!

Stock for the time being... Im not sure but I think I already have some problems with it im bringing it in sat to have them check it out and see if any codes come up. I have some money put aside for mods for the spring. I found someone with a slightly used JRSC for the SVT for $1500 with a 2.4 pulley for 8.5psi. Im probably going to try and pick that up soon and let it sit in my basement so I can stare at it until spring.

What color is yours and what you have from factory and for mods?

mine is bone stock i was think of putting a CAI and AFC in it when the warrenty goes up which is a year from now, but yeah its a 03 red, have the traction control, heated seats and mirrors, audiophile 9006, typical SVT. Did you see that saleen focus up at luther by fleet farm, it ZX3 that is modded up, has the 2.3 and it comes factory with a 75 shot kinda wondering why they didn't do that to the SVT would have made more sense. i was thinkin eventually going with a turbo, i was look online when i first bought it and they want 4500 for a SC for the SVT, and the turbo kit was only 2500-3000. your supposed to gain i think 100 whp with the SC though.
