and where are you going to purchase this dry ice to put in there at the track?
I don’t even think that the domestic guys that put just ice on their cars purchase that at the track. Common sense would help here. :rolleyes:assasain wrote:

Common sense would help here.... where can you buy dry ice? I'm asking an honest question. Is it available in Fargo? Is it even legal to have by the normal person. These are all serious questions.

If you are going to have to recharge or refill your cold air intake all the time I would have to think that a smart person would realize you might as well be using nitrous and making hp.

DJ Im glad someone here isnt a fool who speaks of things they dont know about.
Chilling the intake is something that has been around for a long time.
Its not something for driving around all the time with, its for drag racing pure and simple. Mainly used on full on drag cars making high hp.
You can use regular ice if you want.
You can get dry ice at just about any grocery store and some hardware stores.
You throw some in a cooler so you have extra ice for the additional runs.
Any other experts got a reason for why its a stupid idea?

and I agree, you are an idiot if you are gonna drive around with a box full of ice under your hood. I am sure it would last a long time sitting next to a 200+ degree block of cast iron....

Actually dry ice isn't as hard to come by as you might think. I used to work in a grocery store and all the frozen goods came packed in dry ice and all we did was thow it away, or make dry ice bombs. You could just ask around at the local grocery stores, it does keep long though. maybe a day.

If you are looking to ice or dry ice or CO2 to get that little extra HP out of your motor you better have Satan incarnate as your motor with absolutly no more HP to squeeze out, or you're barking up the wrong forest. I'm not saying the intake is a bad idea but, I think that it would do as much good as me eating a LOT of beans and farting like a crazed bastard the whole way down the dragstrip for the extra "boost." The money on that intake is better spent elsewhere, like on hookers and blow. Don't do drugs.
