i guess i'll contact the dmv

and to help w/ the topic of this thread
              if it's an 88 4dr i believe it will be a DX or LX w/ a d15 w/ dpfi
dpfi is 2 fuel injectors in the throttle body instead of 4 on the runners.

In case you havn't had your question answered....

88-91 Civic DX have D15A rated at 92 hp @6000 rpm
                    86-87 SI have EW4 rated at 91@5500
                    90-91 EX have D16A6 rated at 108@6000

check to make sure which vehicle trim is on the title, or there should be a stamping on the block.....my years might be wrong, old sorce.

And how is one supposed to obtain a title for the "free" Civic? You can't just pick up car and say you own it.

dude, u got pwned by a d15 on memorial day 😄

DPFI stands for direct port fuel injection. which means one injector for each cylinder. There should be 4 injectors on that engine if that's what it says on there. I (personally) have never seen a Honda engine with throttle body injection. (with injectors in the throttle body). I'm not saying they dont exist, I've just never seen one EVER.

all the dx and std civics in 88-91 were throttle body injected.
my use of DPFI may have been wrong, i was using it as dual point fuel injection. There is definitely only 2 injectors on there.

a plus to the 88's is that they are lighter than the newer ones
                            an 88 dx 4dr is 1900 to 2000lbs.
