i got in 1 accident...and a couple speeding tickets...and i pay $500.00 every 6 months for my GSX...through Progressive
How? Do you have a really high deductible...like $10,000? Is the insurance through your parents? I have a tough time beleiveing that a male at your age with an accident can pay less than $100 a month for full coverage on a sports car.....I would have guessed $175ish

i was waiting for someone to ask...yeah its through my parents....but progressive is a good way to go....if you pay every 6 months in advance...they give you 1 month free......right when i signed up with progressive...they sent me a check for like $120.00 for having a good driving record? why i have no idea....

FWIW, I pay $80/month TOTAL for my vehicles through State Farm. $100 deductible full coverage. I average .75 tickets per year (over last 4 years) and no accidents that were my fault (hit and run). Granted I'm a bit older than most of you and own a house so I get multi-line/married/old-guy insurance. I checked a while back for insurance on JUST my wrx through Progessive and Geico...both were well over $120/month. So, in my opinion, they suck ass. I've never gotten a cheaper quote than through local agents (state farm, american family, etc....all good, and good people to work with)

$240 per month... I have everyone beat! Through state farm in Fergus Falls ( used to live in battle lake )
2 speeding tickets, and 1 street racing ticket... 1 of the speeding tickets was almost 5yrs ago so its going to be going off my record soon.
And I checked it out and my insurance company doesnt show the street racing ticket or the other speeding ticket... must be because they were in ND and I live in MN or something, but the street racing was over a year ago.
I really really need a different insurance company or something because $240 a month on insurance is more than I have ever heard of anyone paying... even some guys I work with have DUIs with full coverage and dont pay as much as me.
Oh and I have no accidents... so whats up with that?

yeah i dont know about state farm either, im on my parents who both have clean records and mine was 160 a month before and 174 a month now that i have an exhibition driving ticket. We also do the 6 month payment plan so its 1044 now and was 9something pre-ticket.

A higher deductable is cool if want a lower premium, but if you do get in an accident who actually has $500-$750 laying around to pay it. I just kept the lower deductable and I pay a bit more. my last three accident have all been deer, I paid a $100 deductable. That's through Farmers union. I live at home but pay my own insurance but because I do live at home I get a family discount. Mines varies between $195-$215 every 2 months. I still have few point on my license though. Should be getting down there though. I lost my license for a whole two weeks, the timing was right so I got a point back two weeks after I lost it. If I remember right you get one back every six months if you keep a clean driving record in between.

I pay 632 every 5 months through gieco... thats with a whole lot of tickets and an accident back in high school(wasn't sited for it though) mine was higher more like 900 ever six months but then I turned 21, it's just liability, but full coverage isn't that much more through my company and I think it's like 2 dollars more a month when I had a second vehicle. gieco may not be the cheapest, but working nights, it's nice that I can call anytime and they have always been willing to work with me.

they actually consider my grand prix as a sports car now...when i first got it was a family sedan...i had to laugh when they recategorized it...but the thing with my talon was that I just had limited miles insurance...like I could drive it 8k a year or so

well its a wrx...wrx are cheap to insure, have great safety ratings and are considered family sedans by most major insurance companies.

i know theyre great for insurance.. but a friend of mine is in the same boat hes in. he had a 95ish camaro.. got a buttload of tickets, a minor, then some lady in a truck decided to total his car on 32nd. i think he said the only way he could even get insurance was if he got a really slow family car (99 accord) and went through a certain company.
wasnt getting my hopes up too high.. but id really love to get an RS/WRX.. so i figured id try.

Like I said, subaru's are really good on insurance cuz they are considered family cars....even the STi, heck some places rate the STi at a lower price due to better brakes, suspension, etc....
