yeah I suppose I can muster up some of my cheerleading skills 😄 😉

Haha that would be a site!! I have so much to learn before I even attempt to race.. like for example... burnouts!! Eventually I will attempt to run my car but I would like to get some mods done to it and learn the system before a make a complete fool of myself!

Is your car a manual/automatic? Either way, burnouts may not be to your advantage, just drive around the puddle of water when directed, roll into the staging area when signalled to do so and roll slowly forward until you light both lights on the tree....then take off when the lights get to the last yellow one. Pretty easy, and no way to get good at it w/o practice

2 things holding me back... slipping clutch ( I think... it grinds when I shift it into gears in high rpms of around 6800-7200 ) and winter tires up front still cause one of my summer tires blew out and im poor right now. Oh and my car stinks because my cat is rotted out... stupid fords

a grinding while shifting at high rpms sound more like a synchro then a clutch problem.

I plan on comming down to the track fo rthe first time this weekend. I actually have never run on a drag track before, I just run road-course. What are the NHRA tech stuff do you have to pass, is a street car just fine to run. Should I put in my 5 point harnesses? I just want to do a few runs for the heck of it, I got 2 limp cyliners on my camamro so I won't do very well, but I want to know my time before I pull the car apart and stroke the engine, so see how much power I got out of it afterwards. Any help would be cool, I want to show up ready.

                          Seriously tech involves...

                          -You got a seatbelt(anyone would do)...Check

                          -Your battery secured...Check

                          -You got coolant...Check

That's all. Oh and don't get trapped by the stupid stage light trick on the launch pad, which im sure 90% of us did when we first raced.

That's not stupid(referring to your previous post). It's a way to make sure both racers are ready at the same time. As a courtesy, you should both prestage, then you procede to stage and light up both lights.

Thats not what i mean, i meant you feel stupid when you go over the light and have no idea what your doing. the stage lights are great since both rider start at the same spot. but when its your first time and you have no idea what they mean, youll tend to just line up for the hell of it.
