We've come to the point where no extraordinary preformance can occur without the presumption that someone has cheated.

well you could buy a $400 beater...it wouldnt cost much to insure and it may be smart...it might also help if your stang has ABS or some kind of TC

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

agreed.... you'd be amazed at the difference a good set of snow tires makes!

Snow tires and gentler throttle use will make a whole lot of a difference. You'll need 4 snow tires though as just using 2 is very risky. You do want to be able to turn safely, right?

I agree on all of these. I had an 87 300zx and it was a pain to drive without snow tires. I had sand, light right foot, and a set of R compound tires(very bad for winter).

😮 Did you have a death wish? Wow.

To the thread starter, you seriously need to be careful. Spinning the tires on slippery roads in the winter here can lead to a very bad situation before you even realize what has happend.

Yeah i was joking about the lead foot, i know i gotta be careful because the car is my baby, paid for by ME. I have a close attachment to it and want to keep it in tip-top shape for MANY years.

Oh ya, i only had one sand bag in the back too. i didnt slide much, it just took me forever to start moving from a stop, the rear tires would spin, spin, and spin some more. Also, this was my first time really driving in the winter was last year, first car too. HA HA

I'd say get an old school AWD audi and put snow tires on it. Maybe you could do a little drifting.

Just get some beater for under a thousand and keep your mustang stored for the winter. Any thing can happen in the winter and if ya banged it up it would really piss ya off right? So avoid the prob. and get something that matters a little less to you to beat on.

well then strike #1 is driving it in the winter.....

I've never ran snow tires (used to only have one set of wheels), but ran a shitload of sand in the trunk and crossed my fingers. Torque (points and laughs at honda guys 😉 ) makes for plenty of issues trying to leave a stoplight in poor conditions...

....I'll stick to the 4WD this winter again...
