like i was saying before.. building a reputation as a company with a lot where cars consistently get broken into isnt the best way to go. at least throw a fake camera up there if nothing else.

Haha you seriously have no idea, and probably should quit talking.

I can count a few things getting stolen out of Nick's personal vehicles sitting outside of his store. Cars have been broken into at probably every shop in this town.

You want to know the big thing, and something that we dealt with at Roadsounds in Minot too... Customer cars left on the premises should have everything of value removed before dropping the vehicle off. Common sense says dont' leave your radios face plate on, don't leave your cds on the seat, dont leave money laying out.

It is NOT the shops responsiblity to push EVERY CAR in and out every night that does not run. That's what parking lots are for.

Thats why most businesses either have it posted in there building or they tell you when you bring your car in...

"WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANYTHING STOLEN OUT OF YOUR VEHICLE WHILE YOUR CAR IS IN OUR PARKING LOT"

                    Simple as that!!!!!!!!

Unless you charge the people money for leaving it in the parking lot...then it is your responsibility...

It's really not that hard to post something in your shop saying you arent liable for the customers cars.....or even tell them that you arent held liable for stolen property...

WOW! Just to clarify and make sure people don't think I was accusing SLS of stealing anything. I wasn't. Just when I was running up possible suspects in my head and them scratching them off they were one. But they are as likely to steal it as me. And as for the "owner" of the car, I only have one set of keys, never have lost a key or locked them in a vehicle so I guess I've just been taking my chances for years not having spares. In all honesty at this point I have no clue who did it. but like I said before I was happy there was no forced entry and I'm out nothing. Thats why I felt no reason to push the issue beyond just blowing off alittle steam on here. I filed a police report, just so there was an insurance record, talked to the guys at SLS and pretty much covered all my bases just in case of anything getting worse. but personally I think maybe SLS would want to throw a camera up or something. then they could catch the people that steal stuff. atleast then hopefully they would be less of an inviting target... but I'm not a bussiness owner I don't know if that is somethign that would be cost effective, more so just piece of mind.

oh yeah, to the person that said something about rigging up a gun in their car, I hope you were kidding because that is very illeagle and would wind you in jail if not worse. So yeah, bad idea man!

the white 2g infront of the garages..dont touch it or your done for.

btw, did you just happen to cluelessly leave your door un locked? we went over to look at your set up one day and Joel for some reason walked right up and opened the hood so maybe it was unlocked after you left it there.

if it's in the car it is against the law to have one in the chamber in ND, or have a loaded clip in the gun. if it is MN then it is against the law to not have it in a locked case. also these apply to in the day(where the gun can be in plane site) but at night it has to be in a case. in the case of a pistol you need a permit in the first place to carry one in MN, IN ND you can carry it in the open from one hour before sun up till one hour after sun down. Also without a permit the gun cannot be loaded. After that you need a concealed permit to carry at night. Also in both states in order to use deadly force you have to be threatened with deadly force. also by law use of such a device would never stand up in court.

I left SLS the only set of keys to it and they said they locked it after they brought it back. and Joel doesn't have keys for this car either. it was his that I parted into mine. like I said SLS had the only set. So I doubt a key was used.
