What coverage are you speaking of?

I GUARANTEE if the dealer sees you beating the fuck out of the car, they will have just cause for voiding the warranty.

I know, not beating the fuck, as you so gently put it, might not get caught, but aftermarket parts will kill me in the end. Now will be the true test, I had a problem, but I took my intake off quick and put the stock one back on, but I will see what happens. I think I might have gotten water in the intake. They can't just void my whole warranty, that's against the law. They can only not replace parts where aftermarket parts are, otherwise, I am all covered.

How the hell could you have gotten water in your air intake? It's like 6" long.

I don't know, but maybe it was just dirty, or if water got on there somehow, there goes my car. I don't really care just as long as it's covered and gets fixed. They are working on it now.

If your check engine light is on I can pretty much gaurantee they'll know more than you think about what caused it. OBDII cars take data snapshots when they give a CEL. Things like engine load, RPM, A/F ratios, vehicle speed are common things captured. If you bring you're car in with the stock airbox on and the A/F ratios are completely wrong they're going possibly diagnose the problem incorrectly.

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects you from having your warranty voided when using aftermarket parts unless it can be proven the aftermarket part caused the problem. Because of this it is your duty, IMO, to be able to scan your own vehicle's computer system with a scanner so you can retrieve code information and look it up. If the code is related to something you did then you should diagnose and fix the issue. If you don't agree with this then don't modify your car.

What makes you think you got water in the engine anyway? A small amount of water spray isn't so bad (water injection anyone?) and you'd have to submerge the filter completely to get a real good amount of water anyway. And if you did that you certainly wouldn't be driving it to the dealer for repair.

The CEL was never on though. I should have just left it on, but oh well. I didn't want something major to be wrong, then have them not fix it cause of the intake, cause they are gay like that. They just called back, and said that the intake wasn't set up right, one of the tubes. I was just worried that something more majored happened to the engine because of something, or that it was the tranny. It wasn't water then, but I bet my intake was dirty as hell maybe, I haven't cleaned it since I got it. The cleaning kit is 25 bucks, that I don't have right now. When I looked in the first tube off of the TB, it was black at the back, and I take it that means it was dirty as hell.

Try telling that to Subaru of America where they have voided warranties on transmissions for guys that have only added cold air intakes/grounding kits. I agree though, the law is written to protect the consumer.
