New to Fargo Argument

Here this might help, lol

GSR = track only car. I bet its NOT his daily driver. He built a race car, when YOU build a car capable of 11's, daily driver or not, then you have the right to talk shit.
Subies are NOT the best car. MMMMmmmm anyone feel like replacing a transmission? there is such a thing as having a trrack car AND a daily driver. some people choose to make them the same car, some choose to have 2 different cars. What happens when you take your dailydriver/track car to the track and blow something up? then you are out of basic transpotrtation until you get it fixed. But, if you have a dedicated track car and it pops, you still have a car to get you from point A to point B.

I drive the GSR close to daily. I drove it to work for over 2 months straight. It's a street car, not a race car.

I was just responding to the STI guys post bashing track only cars. ITs hard to build a car that fast and still have it driveable on the street (reliably), takes some mad skillz, yo.

Which is why he asked to drive my car during a 95 degree day. Gotta love that AC. -

How did this turn into a GSR vs. Subaru argument? Hahah. Subarus are like DSMs but slower when it comes down to most of it. Especially once they start to make power. And one other thing... I never put my car together to be a luxury mobile. 1. It's an Integra. 2. It has cloth seats. 3. It hasn't had A/C or Power Steering for 4 years.
It's just a civic w/ a different body.
it turned into a gsr/subaru argument when you had to make a comment about subaru's when nothing was said about subarus... someone brought up my wrx and started talking shit... I talked shit on honda's because i work on them daily... I never said all honda's were slow. I never said i didn't like your gsr *i thought it was an awesome car, besides the point that the green6767676 got pissed off because i said he wasted his money is when it all started... Im sorry i don't find a 14 sec. car fast... Other than that i would just like to comment that again i have raced and yes i did own a civic si before this car... Also most importantly I pay for my car/insurance/as well as all the upgrades in which i installed myself minus the tranny,clutch,flywheel... again i appologize for pissing everyone off... Its just that the discussion went from me to green guy, to me and gsr and then everyone else joined in to spout... i should be at the tracks either tomm. or next tues. when it cools off.. then i will post up time slips... my best run with my 2002 Civic SI with a 30 shot 17's and shitass kuhmo's was a 14.8 at like 9X's which in my case wasn't that bad considering without the nitrous i ran a 15.1-2 with i/h/e so again yes i did race before and i am sorry for being a dick lately. -
In before the lock.
Why can't we all just get along seriously?

Wow Ricer helper outer Guy is real POPULAR... and i have a feeling hes much like wannabe in the fact that hes going to come back with, "your not the board king" since i only have a few posts. Youve dissed on a ton of peoples shit on this site and come to find out you drive a WRX, whats the matter mom and dad cut off your allowance before you got to the STI mark. I personally think that we should make another site just for the dbags to talk shit about every post that we have on fargo street, it would cut down on bandwidth you know. Kinda look like we ropped off this section at a club for the underaged types or something lol.
kinda sounds like drake if you ask me. nightrider when i first met you, you were cool. but now you come to our board talkin shit about our cars. go back to st louis we dont want you here. you belong with gravedigger and drake. -
Last I checked stock WRXs run 14s too. That's blazing fast!
-
about as fast as 16 second stock GSRs.

price tag? When they were both new and if you figure in inflation and what not....probably not very far from each other. Mine was 22,800 brand new.

My GSR when it was brand new was probably somewhere around 22-23k being I don't have leather. Fully loaded they were around 24k or so in 2001 when they came standard with leather, immobilizer, etc.

As a WRX owner, I would just like to make some facts know about them. This is just more of a comparison...not a rant... so chill

My WRX is a Stage 2 COBB setup and makes about 224 hp to all four wheels (285 crank if you must know). I know that is not much and I won't argue that. The AWD kills a lot of the power and that is a big drawback...but it hooks up like a mother... It goes 0-60 in roughly 4.6 secs. However it's 1/4 is still only 13.4 at 101.5mph average taken from this site . Top end is shit because of the AWD setup.....
I would like to point out that it cost me $1715 for the stage 2 package. To me this isn't that much money, because I have a job that supports it. I know that not everyone does. This is not the argument. I am curious how much does it cost for a GSR to be that fast?
Subaru is also one of the leaders in the industry as far as reliability and safety (probably because it is japanese). So... Honda, Acura, Mitsi, and Subaru are on par.
Both cars have their advantages. I don't knock either one. I have a friend that has a Civic SI running really high hp numbers... over 500... and I know how much he spent on his engine and what he did. I have seen quite a few WRX's (not STI's) running over 500 hp on a daily driver setup. These cars have the same work done to them as the Civic for about the same amount of money. Yes they did need to change out the 5 speed for the 6 speed STI tranny...because the 5 speed is weaksauce.... But you can change the gearsset and get the same thing for less money minus the extra gear.
oh...and.... nightriderwrx.... stop hatin... you know you are just jealous...

Are we talking 500whp here? If so, I'm raising the BS flag. There is almost no way that a US spec EJ20T is going to support 500whp. What kind of turbos are these cars running? T66? SC61? 60-1? GT40's? Those turbos hardly constitute a daily driver 2.0 liter motor as the lag would be severe. Or are we talking about a worthless number like crank HP? Crank HP won't do you one bit of good if the wheels don't see a good portion of it..that would translate to what? 390-410 WHP perhaps on a suby, maybe less. Give me a Dynapack (which seems to be the favored dyno of WRX owners) and those numbers are close to in reach on my car as Mustang Dynos generally read ~40hp lower than others. Had I not hit boosting issues I have no doubt I would have been very close to 350whp and 380 wtq. Oh, and I run 13's (well last year, pre-tune).
You talk about making the switch to an STi 6 speed, last I checked to get a 6 spd was about $6000, to make 500 crank HP is going to run you about another $5000-$6000 minimum. Figure in labor and you can easily factor in another $2000, that puts you at $14k in mods on a $23,000 car (if you buy new). I really think you need to check your facts about subies before making the claims you have made.
Chuck
PS. I own a WRX
