Come on guys I need some input here.....the shops I know of are
1 tintmasters
2 typr R
3 roadsounds
4 autowerx
5 SLSThere is one of these shops that I will never go back to, I wont say which one. I have always had good luck with autowerx, but I heard they closed....
Please help me out where am I gonna get the best work for the best price the quality of work is more important than the priceDepends how long you want to be w/o your car. Type-R I'm confident can do what you want, HOWEVER it will take him longer than the rest of the shops. I'm guessing SLS could assist you as well, though they kind of pride themselves on being mostly imports. Roadsounds....now that GSR isn't working there I don't know if they still do mechanical stuff in fargo. Autowerx out of business. Tintmasters I assume could probably do what you need too. PROBABLY the quickest of all the shops mentioned, though they do tend to cost a bit more.

If its basic bolt ons... get your damn hands dirty and do it yourself!
If its a turbo kit or supercharger or nitrous... SLS, Type-R, and Tintmasters can help you on that for sure. As far as time frame goes tintmasters prolly the fastest because SLS is busy with a lot of custom fab shit, and Type-R is just Caleb without help if im not mistaken.
If its a custom fabricated turbo set-up or some shit... id say SLS
If its more ricer parts... any shop can do it for ya.

i don't know that i would go to a hot rod shop for a turbo... supercharger might be ok. personally, i don't know anything about the "muscle car performance" places, except that i went in to a couple of places asking about -insert import specializing company- and got blank stares from everyone. now i know better, and i stick to who i know will do what i need: sls or type r.
i'm quite sure that autowerx-fargo is out of the performance scene; tim and i stopped by to ask about a 13bt for his rx7, and we were informed that they're focusing on stereos and appearance stuff now -
i heard that autowerx was closing down. Dont know for sure. There is a for rent sign out front of autowerx but the place hasnt been cleaned out so dont know if that is what the sign is for. Has anyone else heard this at all?

Many places can tend to your needs, but you need to figure out what you want done before jumping into knowing the place to go to. Some shops specialize in one thing, while the others specialize in the other. The one shop that specializes in one thing that can get it done faster and cheaper because they do it all the time, while the other shop will take longer, and cost more because they dont do them that much, or not at all. Do your research first on what you want to do, then figure out where to go.

P.S. If it is something dirty, just ask someone on the forum on how hard it is to do, most of use are willing to help out a bit if it is something that doesn't take much work, or that we know well. So getting your hands dirty is your best bet, unless you are looking for an overhaul.

Im not the most mechanically inclined but would love to learn, so if anyone is interested in helping me install things as I get them, I would appreciate it a ton!!

im free if you ever call me anymore. Weve done fine for now.

Most mustang things that you can order come with directions. Minor mods are basic do it yourselfer stuff. Can you change your oil? Then you can do a lot. Buying parts thru a shop gets you markup plus labor for install. Some shops won't do installs unless they order the parts, some will. Have you looked at FRPP(Ford Racing Performance Parts)? I'm not sure what they have for you but you can check. Then you can have a ford dealership do the work. There is another mustang guy Turboh5oh on this forum he works there. He can probably tell you if they can or can't do something.

Thanks for the tips CCr, much apprecated

Can I suggest a turbo for your stang? There was a thread on here not too long ago with a turbo 6 putting up some nice numbers but then again it will cost more than you like probably.
-
Where could I get it installed and where/how much is the kit??? I would be very interested but I asked Type R and they said around 10g's

You can buy the kit for like $4500 I believe someone step in if this is wrong. The install might set you back another grand so that quote from Type-R maybe a little off.I know that SLS offers a kit for Honduhs for $2500 (not publically though) but that is the most basic of kits so I think with being that you're V6 and all it would cost a little more.

So SLS would be the people to talk to about going turbo??? Thats not to bad on the price...what kind of numbers was the other stang puttin up?

400~500ish HP but I am not exactly sure on what his set-up was. Just kind of a fair warning though that it may take longer than you expect with SLS because they are always super busy with things around the shop.

No problem it would be done over either this winter or next winter, so they could have the car for months!!!
