Thoughts on "Pefect 10" show

If Chuck would have had his way, mark would not have won best of show so i know that he did not go on his own taste but with points only. I do have one question though Chuck, yes i thought your wrx deserved the 1st place subaru, but iwht 3 of you judging, and then tallying your score and going with the average or whatever, how could you fairly judge your own car to get to that average, just a thought. not bashing you or your car, just curious how it all worked.just remember MOST people are WAY harder on themselves than anyone else would ever be...its just the way it works and even after chuck judged his car he came over to me and said i think i judged my car REALLY hard and im pretty sure i took myself out of 1st...chuck is not one to cheat to win...

The whole car show crowd reminds me of elementary school when kids didn't get picked for the football team, baseball team, etc... Get over it, there will always be someone better, there will always be someone w/a nicer car, etc.. Losing should make you bring your car up to a higher quality in the future.
If someone wants they can have my trophy if it makes them feel any better.

I liked the carbon fiber evo for best Mitsu.....I didnt see the 3000gt......so I dont konw if I woulda liked it or not

i absolutely got my ass handed to me in the nissan class but shit it is just motivation for next year...im gonna try to come back big next year...no more messing around
hahascott, you do have a really nice car and i didnt really look at the 3kgt because it didnt really do anything for me cause the motor was pretty much stock but just think if you dont have a stereo thats a few points you are easily missing out on...who knows you coulda lost by 1 point...you just dont know...and it could have come down to the stereo or something like that...

I know guys that put on the Autovations show and the Sport Compact Nights show and they've all asked me whats up w/ the Fargo guys complaining when they dont win? So its obviously becoming a repeated issue and maybe their just not up to the level the judges think they need to be to win, i really dont know as im not a judge.

a little off subject but here's a few more pics of us models... some might be the same as alissa's but yea i thought i'd post em...

I was not saying that chuck cheated to win or anything like that, i just think and i belive that a lot of people will be on my side that judges should not judge their own cars in a show because i know of a lot of people thinking bad stuff when judges cars win. Not everyone knows how people judge their own car.

and i know you werent saying chuck was cheating at all...cause i completely understand where you are comin from...but in this case chuck is about as honest and fair as they come

I scored my car hard, probably too hard as I think I had it rated around 2nd place in its class...but I was more concerned about being fair than winning.
Scott (I'm going off memory here so bare with me) I think you need some ICE and a few more interior mods (I know you have Katskin already). Exterior/Paint/Overall/Clean/etc.. you scored well. If I remember right it was DAMN close between you two. I really like your car and the route you've gone. IMHO the only things left are a system and interior mods (custom kickpanels to go along with a new system would be an improvement even and could count as points in two categories). To set yourself apart in the show scene I think you need to do custom type mods. Not the typical off the shelf type stuff.
As for me not wanting to give the best of show to Mark, that is partially true. I personally liked Tony Swartz's car better. That is not a stab at Mark, I'm pretty sure everyone on here knows what my complaints are about his car. If you don't, just do a search of Oddens Rod Shop on this forum and read my comments. They were the only 2 cars in attendance that deserved it in my opinion. I PERSONALLY liked Tony's better, BUT it was a car show and I'll give you all one guess who's car generally had a larger crowd looking at it. Bright Orange Paint, Lambo Doors, Custom Graphics....how can that not get noticed? He did what it took for him to win this show. I voiced my reasoning for Tony to the judges and they convinced me otherwise and I agreed with them in the end it was unanimous.

I don't think Scott was complaining, just wanted to know how to better improve his car. Scott is pretty level headed and is on the right path for building his car. All he wanted was some outside advice. Which is what I provided.

trust me...he would have rather not judged his/our cars at all...I'd have rather not judged ANY cars since I knew so damn many of the stories behind the cars personally AND because I had a car and team in the show. I think we were pretty fair though, 4 cars out of 9 placed and/or won special awards, but like ground assault, a lot of us have tons of time/money into our cars so I didn't feel bad giving anyone a good score if they deserved it.

IMO a "best of show" vehicle should not have any corners cut and be top notch in every aspect, not just shine in a few categories which a lot of vehicles around here do. Best of show is the best all around vehicle not just he best paint, best audio, best performace which a lot of people overlook. To me around here it seems most of the show car scene guys concentrate 95% on exterior appearance and dont give much attention to engine bay or interior. Throwing in a set of race seats and a monitor IMO doesn't give you full points for interior, throwin g a few bolt on's under the hood doesn't get you full points either. Attention to detail and fit on finish is key. You gotta be anal and you gotta be picky, and you have to choose your parts wisely if you plan to win big events.

I can give honest opinions of everyones car and what i think needs improvement. I think most people around here think they can slap on a body kit, rims, and some custom paint and they should win shows.
Scott i think if you want to clean house on the Mitsu class you need to get rid of the tan interior(idk if you did yet or not), get some fiberglass audio work done, and need to get some more underhood appearance items.
Fradets car needs A LOT of interior and engine bay attention, and some existing part upgrades.
Tony's car is looking pretty damn good. I haven't seen any of the interior lately, idk if he's done much there or not but the body and engine bay look good.
I'll even say my audio in the trunk needs a lot more attention as well. Which is why i've got a lot more stuff started(EQ, crossovers, trunk lid, amp rack) thats going in there to finish it up but im way to lazy to finish it..........

I don't know who you are and personally I don't care. Your a dumbass. If you got any problems with any of these vehicles (including mine) talk to me about it. Obviously nobody else had a problem with any of these cars besides you because you are the only retard opening your mouth. That, and I didn't vote for myself to get 3rd place. I'm sorry I don't own a dsm or a honda like everyone in this area. If your ragging on me for being orginal then your worse off than I am. My car is clean and well put together in my opinion. I know its not the normal show car from this region but I take pride on being different. Thats why I'm doing this, So i don't look like your car. Get over it.On a more positive note, Tintmasters put on a great show and it was well recieved by everyone I talked to. Again, my only complaint is that the lights were too dark to see in great detail and to take some pictures. Otherwise the show was great. Awesome job Tintmasters!!!
OVERREACT.....IT was a fucking joke!!! But thanks for the compliment of calling mea dumbass....a dumbass is a like a pimp compared to you

i really appreciate the tips given. today i was at tintmasters getting a quote on a system from jason so that is a definant for next year, also i plan on doing a performance rebuild on the motor, polishing the turbo and intake manifold, and i really want a custom tubular manifold made, buidling the tranny, rear discs, and a new paint job. nick, i did change most of my tan interior to black because i really hated having all that tan in there but i really like the way shane and i designed the interior i feel it is nice and clean, next year if i got the money i may do a little bit more work in there i dont know though.

It's over and done with. Sorry I didn't read it as a joke. Your welcome anyways. -
LOL to the above post, i agree that a best of show car should not have any corners cut, but he does have a lot of money into the car and it does have a big wow factor. i agree with chuck he did what he needed to do to get the attention, and i believe you were hard on your car chuck because if you weren't you wouldn't think it needs work and after talking to you and knowing you for a little bit now, i know you don't think your car is perfect, but i know you will work hard on it and improve it to make it better. I am probably sounding stupid but thats ok i am. I was just wondering if you actually had to judge your own car and how the whole judging thing worked. So you can all disreguard what i brought up i was just being dumb. I mean chuck look at my car LOL that is all i have to say about it.
