I can't tell you how many times I've had muscle cars and pickups rev on me in parking lots and at stop lights (literally every time I drive my car). This shit has to stop too. FWIW, I should have been more clear, I hear PLENTY of V8's at night by my house too, not just "speed racers."

Maybe I should start "looking out for them" with their modified exhausts and whatnot and making phone calls to the police w/ license plate numbers or even vague descriptions about cars racing by my house at night....

I'm not pissed that they're cracking down, I'm pissed that they're profiling a specific type of car when obviously its not just one style or another.

You guys think Fargo is bad for this stuff go to Fergus Falls. That place sux ass. I grew up there. I was a Marine for 4 yrs and was away from home. During those 4 yrs I did not get one ticket. I then got out and moved back and in my 1st month back I got a ticket. After that I was like f*ck this town and moved up to Fargo and have been ticket free :). I did not change my driving habits just my town. Seriously ask Weshole if you guys think Fargos bad. Go through Fergus one night with a loud exhaust or to dark of tint or anything that is not stock on your car. Slick Willie just got like a $300 or $400 ticket because his aftermarket bumper covered up his front plate. I see people cruising all the time in Fargo with no front plate or one that says Chevy Thunder or some crap on it. Like right now I have no front plate

If you sign a complaint, these american muscle jerks that you speak of can/ will recieve exhibition driving tickets. Matt Groshun got one in his hatch, and was pulled over 3 days after the person had filed a complaint, and given a ticket for it. Went to court(i believe) and lost. Either way I know he had to pay for it. I am going to rag on my dad to write a letter to the editor and the fargo pd. I encourage everyone to have as many people as possible let the local press/state know how we feel.

You know. They shouldnt be able to pull us over for loud exhaust if they dont have a specific db level we cant go over. When shit like this is up to the "cops Disgression", they will hand out tickets left and right to us "speed racers" and non to the muscle cars or trucks. They really need a db limit here if they are goin to do this. Also, this is going to just get worse and they will probably be inspecting our cars for illegal items such as test pipes.

I also think that the police are not educated about the scene very well if at all. I think there needs to be some sort of a meeting with the police and some of the higher tuners(tufte, shane, caleb, and the older guys) to help educate them.

I honestly think that if you voiced your opinion to these shops,, they will not only back us, but come along for the ride to the bottom of this ridiculous situation. If it was a small town, where everyone knew the police personally, it wouldn't be so bad. But when we have(even 2 or 3) people out every night ricing around at rev limiter, we will keep gettin profiled because to them, we are all the same. for example: In there eyes, Stephen Bradley uses his car the same exact way frietag does(just to throw out 2 extremes). It helps that the v-dub/sti club went into hibernation for the winter, but still, when you get pulled over for doing 70 plus in a 30, do you really expect that they will happen to forget that it was a hatchback, and not look for the same little blue booger, or cars like it, in the future? so please, everyone who can and probably already have been profiled as a "speed racer, keep it down from now on, or atleast until 3 fast 3 furious comes out.

Alot of this thread makes sense, alot of it doesn't..........what would be awesome, is if everyone could drive like a relatively normal person, and doesn't do anything that could make your exhaust be considered, loud and obtrusive......that simple, then we could prove a point.

If you think the ticket is bullshit, take it to court and challenge it. Thats what the system is there for. What basis do you have for the claims that police officers are not educated about the scene? They get complaints about people driving like jackasses, and there are a lot of those people, so they have to respond.

You know, one problem we have that is brought on by ourselves is this. We travel in packs. Its not that we have 1 car w/ an exhaust that drives by....we have 30-60 sometimes, I can see how this would get annoying to people
