I dunno, the Cobalt SS and GTO wouldn't be all bad.Actually chuck the GTO is based on a very VERY old chasy from overseas GM products and ride and handling sucks much less add in all the chasy flex, road noise all it has is horsepower
cobalt is just another cheap car good for highschoolers and college students

Their quality has risen within the last few years coming close to that of Japanese and European auto manufacturers. They had to raise the bar to compete with foreign companies-cost goes up. I think the only reason they are selling chryslers is because mercedes got on board? They redesigned their best selling cars into more expensive models and sales went down the pooper. Take a look at the grand am and grand prix. How many new c6's or whatever they are do you see running around? I have noticed one and that is only because my cousin drives it. I think it would be funny if GMC Chevrolet Cadillac Pontiac Dodge Jeep ect all left the fargo moorhead area leaving luther to inherit another monopoly.

Yes, the current GTO is based on the Holden Monaro (sp?) from Australia. GTO probably does have some flex in the chassis (schulzy, if you're reading this...DRINK), but nothing that can't be fixed in the aftermarket, they have successfully campaigned GTO's as drift cars you realize?

any truck is better than a GM truck
only GM worth purchasing is a vet but why would you spend 66G on that when you can get sooo much more performace for an additional 14G in the viperAutoline detroit is a great show on speed channel to stay ontop of what the auto industry business wise is up to I had it schedualed on DVR everyweek that way i can skip forward during boring sections...

it's not just american companies that fell hard honda and GM both copy designs of other companies and make things dull and without any style that's why they are fallingtoyota is rocking the industry
diamlerchrysler is doing good ford is keeping pace with the industry and I believe both kia and hyundai are the 2 fastest market gainers of everyonein total sales GM is still #1 but loosing ground toyota is #2 but gaining, ford and diamler chrysler were somewere before honda, honda was like about #7

why start out with something that needs alot more work and is VERY plain looking 32+ thousand dollar car when you can start out with an STI or Evo 8 or the hemi charger or BMW 3 series or Benz C classes for all around the same price

Obviously you dislike all GM vehicles. There are a lot of good vehicles out there these days, quality has risen in all american brands to compete with reliability of imported vehicles. Show me some proof that the big bad viper is soo much better than the C6 Z06 Vette? Funny how in every magazine I have ever read, the vette gets way more bang for the buck. Vipers are cool, don't get me wrong, but I would rather have all of the technology and looks of the zo6. Maybe I am a GM man, but you can't just say that they are crap and everything is better than them. Now I just need to win the lotto so I can buy a cool car.

so if they do this, will they dissapear, or just restructure their debt and shitThey'd most likely file chapter 11 and just reorganize/structure and pay pennies on the dollar to their creditors. I dont think the world could handle such a powerful force just leaving suddenly.

GM is set to release a new vehicle in 2007, can't remember the name, but it is the same car as the Oper Speedster and the Vauxhall.

GM has been fat and drunk on their own past successes for way too long and the market is finally biting them in the ass big time.

Actually I don't hate GM i do like some of their products but they are mostly older...
cady's are GM and that part of GM has turned themselves around....Yeah it's been discussed about GM going chpt 11 since jan of this year... and it will probably be for the better it will make them open up their eyes on what they haven't been doing just like what happened when they were known as chrysler not diamlerchrysler back in the mid 80's
i've seen it happen with soooo many companies they get the name and become the biggest and get lazy another good example would be kenwood they used to be top dog then they started relying on everyone else to come up with new stuff and just copy the other companies...
my only beef i guess if you wanted to call it that is GM has gotten lazy and chpt 11 is just what they need to open their eyes just like it's what chrysler needed in the 80's
who know's maybe they'll come up with the next BIG thing like chrysler did with the mini van... even if it's a mini van it is still one of the best idea's in the past 20 years... u can't include SUV's cause they've came about I think it was in the 60's could be earlyer than that

How many GM products do you see on the road compared to foreign manufacturers? The numbers have slipped in the last few years but there are still a lot more Cavaliers, Cobalts, and Malibus then there are Civics and Accords.

Which stock Vipers have gone 11.6? I have video of one. The mags have tested them at 11.7. IMHO, Vipers aint got shit on C6 Z06s. -

Get your facts straight GM isn't even close to being #1 anymore. Honda, Toyota, and Hyundai are on top....GM, Ford, Daimler Chrysler, and Kia are down the line..

Although GM sure doesn't have an A+ management team, many of their products are pretty good. The 4th gen F-body is a pretty good platform. Though I would rather have seen an updated F-body, the new LS2 powered GTO is still impressive as well. The big question is if the management team has managed to lose so much money that they can't afford the R&D to compete with Toyota (who should really reintroduce the Supra). But if there are no more domestic cars, who will you guys have to look down on?
