technically speaking most black belts of any martial arts have to register. I'm sure Chuck is aware of this with his experience. If I do get into any kind of assault or fight, it's considered assault with a deadly weapon, I have never seen it charged that way. But supposedly that's what would happen. Don't care to test out the law either

I have been out of practice for 4 months now due to serious shoulder injuries endured at a national competition. I plan on teaching again with 4 months, I have to see my doctor before I do anything so that I do not complicate my injuries any furthermore.

my cousin was jumped by 4 big guys at a concert once...but he fights in UFC and is only about 5foot 6 so they just thought he was a pussy....and 1 of his fridns that fights with him was standing about 5 feet backing waiting for the 4 guys to hit him....one threw a punch and thats all them 4 guys remember that night im sure...TJAMZ find that fucker and beat his ass....that will solve everything.

When I was 15 years old, yes. I'm sure I still have the papers somewhere, my folks had to come with me. I recieved my black belt at the age of 15, before then they called it a "poom" belt which is a junior black belt. Esentially, it is a black belt but not granted to those of age. So when I turned 15, the Grand Master Soon Bae Kim changed the "rules" of the chang moo kwan association granting full fledged black belts to people the age of 15 with "special permission" granted by any nearby Grandmaster or Master. In my case the local Grand Master here is Moo Yong Yun (very interesting man whom is now semi-retired)

Yes, you are supposed to register w/ your local PD when you get your black belt. I did not, but my instructor gave me the belt anyways. For the record I received my black belt @ age 12 (I think) so the rules apparently changed in the past 17 years cuz when I got out there wasn't a "junior" black belt designation.

What style tae kwon do? This is chang moo kwan style, and the regulations were changed in 1996 I believe.

to be honest I don't remember the style. I was a member of ATA (American Tae Kwon Do Association) at the end, started as WTA (World Tae Kwon Do Association) however.
