I am NOT going to be running e85. Im not going to go through all that extra work and also i am limited on my funds here. Thats why im doind cam, springs, retainers, p29's, ITB's, Billet rods, race bearings, Port and Polish head, 3-way Vavle job, cometic head gasket, arp head studs, and an exedy stage 2 clutch. A couple minor other things fuel wise but thats all, and an MSD ignition.

Also dont forget lots of tuning time next summer.

Good luck getting your piston/rod combo to work. Cometic head gasket=overpriced junk. And yea, what are race bearings?

A cometic head gasket for a honda is essentially the same as the OEM one, except for the price. Plus unless he sleeves or fills the block, or runs a block guard (which I personally wouldn't do) honda sleeves have a tendency of shifting which causes head gaskets to blow.

Just not worth it in my opinion. I'd just run OEM gaskets. 🙂

he's limited on funds, so he's only gonna get "cam, springs, retainers, p29's, ITB's, Billet rods, race bearings, Port and Polish head, 3-way Vavle job, cometic head gasket, arp head studs, and an exedy stage 2 clutch".............and for some reason, even if e85 was thought about, which it isnt...all you'd need is to make your fuel system corrosive free and get some bigger injectors...as in, stainless steal fuel lines (replace any rubber or corrosive prone materials in the fuel system), injectors about 2x the normal size give or take, and a good tuning device...that doesnt sound like much money to me compared to the rest of the build...and hell harwood, even if you only get 15-20mpg with it, you'll be paying 60 cents less/ gallon and getting the benefits of 100+ octane...so to me it seems like a no brainer...thats just me tho...anybody else have any thoughts on this or know somebody that has tried it out?

The horseshit gas mileage caused by e85 actually makes it more expensive in the long run.

Torbs, do you know how much stainless lines are? i have a foot of it and it was like $60 bux, go to stealthmodeperformance.com and look at the prices of lines. Plus injectors are expensive and with having to run more fuel it would be more expensive.

                    HOLY FUCK AGAIN!

Hey fuckin guys listen to people for once>

                    1. E85 IS NOT RACE GAS. ITS FUCKING CORN GAS. Leave it at the pump where it belongs.
                    2. SS LINE is RUBBER on the inside unless you buy teflon coated inner.
                    3. SS LINE is NOT 60 dollars a foot.
                    4. all motor single cam is like masturbation, in the end you're only fucking yourself (very slowly I might add)
                    5. Race gas on an all motor SOHC making probably what will be 15 hp is also a waste of money.

why dont you like e85 gsr? i know its not race gas, but it has more potential for power than normal pump when used correctly...do you know anybody that has tried to use/tune with it?...not for this to be a slam war, just wondering because it seems that i get shot down every time i mention this...i'll believe you that it's "bad" if you can show me proof that if tuned correctly theres more than 2x the amount of e85 used compared to gas, that it doesnt improve how much power that a car can produce, and it's overall cost effectiveness...i dont want this to be somthing where its just ppl saying their opinions, im talking about finding facts prooving that its harmful or not usefull in some way shape or form. call me a hard ass about this stuff, but i still havnt seen why its so bad...

E85's octane rating is raised due to the use of Ethanol.
Ethanol is an alcohol, which also lowers where one might consider "stoich."

In order to run as rich as necessary with E85 you will have to increase the fuel system dramatically. What do you do when you go somewhere where you cannot get E85? Run regular gas and then have your car run like shit because it's too rich?

E85 is a consumer grade "bio" gas, which takes just as much petroleum to refine as normal gas. Weird, why use it? Anyways, if you want race gas, buy race gas. If you want pump gas, buy pump gas.

Also, as far as potential with normal pump? You can make between 400 and 500 whp all day EASILY on pump gas, so I don't see why an all motor SOHC is gonna need it....

Im not saying im going to need or run race gas, im just not taking the time to do a pointless conversion to run e85, if i ever needed a high octane like that i would run race gas. But i guess torbs is just retarded and thinks e85 is top shit.
