I need a new toy for next year, what should it be?
-
Well most of you know that my Camaro is now gone, it was hard giving it up because that was the nicest car I have ever owned. Well I figure its time to figure out what to buy for next summer, so I can look for it this winter. I am looking for something under 8 grand and has to be fast, easy to work on and have a nice aftermarket for parts. Now since the Camaro wasn't actually mine, my dad gave it to me to drive and I had only paid him $1500 for the car. So this means I will have to sell some of my toys.
I was thinking about something along the lines of a 84-96 corvette or maybe a porsche 944. But I am not sure.
I have a bunch of Fiero's and 70's Trans AM's and Firebird's, but I want something that has a little luxury and good handling.

In the words of Kevin smith.
"cheap, fast. Reliable; pick 2" Your not gonna get a fast nice luxury car for less than 10. Under fifteen, you might wanna check out used Lexus IS300's(one at corwinn), or for more luxury, check out a lincoln LS. good luck with a new vehicle, it will be hard to find something to please you after you had that camaro. -

I don't want a luxury car but, you know, something with leather, power everything. The key is it has to handle road course racing, so handling is a big thing.

you sure you want leather for road course racing? Kinda slippery...butt tends to slide all over.
Under $8k though....hmmmm.....240SX, 300ZX, 2.5RS, ummm maybe you can get an older BMW?

I agree.And throw a 350 in there.
Thats my answer for everything.
AND when they break, they're cheap as hell to fix due to the abundance of repair parts on hand at EVERY parts store in ND....wonder why that is?

I was being dumb/sarcastic stating that the reason there are parts for 350's in EVERY parts store in ND is because they break so damn often. Its partially true, there wouldn't be a supply of all the repair parts for these motors if there wasn't such a demand for them to be repaired. (I know, I know...many more 350's on the road than probably any other motor config in ND)

Well I just so happen to have a 88 944 Turbo S Porsche, engine dosen't run but the body and transmission are perfect. Maybe I should put a SBC 350 in there, only thing is the kit is like 4 grand and that might make the car a little nose heavy.
I still think I like my corvette idea, I have had 2 C4's and I kinda like them, other than no interior room.

Ill sell you my car... SVT focus and it was made to handle. Power everything, premium sound system, heated leather ( with cloth inserts so you dont slide all over hell when cornering ). 6-speed Getrag ( same as mini cooper-s ) Blah blah blah.
Its a really good handling little car pulled a .89g on the skidpad, and for $2200 for a use or $2700 for a new Vortec supercharger at 7psi on stock internals, minor fuel mods, and a good tune you can hit 250+ whp. Throw on a set of Tein SS coilovers, some strut tower braces and your good to go. The car has the biggest sway bars made for it on there stock already.
But im sure you dont want to spend what I need for it.

I bet your car is nice, but I am not a ford guy and I have hated focus's since they started making them.
