I'm not famialer with fords sound system but you have picked a good one to try to upgrade. It looks like you have a premium sound system.I'm not sure what you need so i will let someone else handle that.
My nissan with bose system is the same way a big pain in the ass to upgrade.i need a special module to upgrade the radio to work with the bose speakers.

Well, my suggestion would be this. If you bought a new deck somewhere, just go to best buy and tell them the type of car, and the type of deck, and they will sell you a harness. One side plugs into the car and one side into the new deck. Then all you have to do is hook the same colored wires together (crimp or solder)

do you have JBL on your speaker covers?
(not necessarily a given way of telling)...but yes, looks like you have a premium sound system....which means.
you need a different Scosche harness AND an amp bypass harness. (and I have NO idea where your amp would be. maybe under the rear deck? )

EXACTLY what i said to him...its got the mach 460 the amps are in his center console and under the rear deck is what he told me...i told him he needs to run the wires directly from the deck to each speaker or have some kind of a bypass kit...

(gonna be different than the one I dealt with.. was ford's premium sound package with 1 amp powering the speakers) -
yup, sounds like the best/easiest way to get around it is to run the speaker wires directly to the speakers in the doors.
-
so basically what everyone's saying is that im gunna most likely have to pay someone to do this or attempt it on my own and probably screw something up?
I also dont get how that would work.....................from what i understand (very limited understanding as you can probably tell) the headunit will be powering the speakers correct? If so......how will a 25x4 headunit power 6 speakers? (2 tweeters, 2 doors, 2 rears) why does shit have to be so complicated, they should standardize everything for gods sake.
-
right now im bored and fed up so i have both door panels off as wella s the rear deck panel.....more is comming off soon. I just want to look at the whole car without all the fancy schmantzy covers and shit. Dad comes home tonight as well so ill get his opinion on it too. THanks guys

hit me up on aim if you need some help dustin.

Buy my Eclipse fronts and ditch the Mach crap. All I ever run is usualy a front sound stage. These things rock, and since the door panels are off and you have to rewire anything anyways would sound even better with your new subs. They play loud and very clear.

after doing some reading up on stangnet it sounds like i might not necessarily have to rewire. I saw one suggestion to connect 2 male RCA cables to the amp wires from the car and then connect them to the RCA outs on the head unit so you can use the amps...any ideas on that? I guess there is some harness thats supposed to be like the holy grail though but i have yet to find one that looks like it'd fit. Im starting to wish we hadnt soldered them so well joel lol.

There is more than one way to do it
For exampe. Its not really to difficult, you just need the harness, and a line level converter. Alot of wiring for very little in return. Have fun my friend put his in and it was such a mess of wires it looked terrible, obviously behind your dash ;). There is just to many wires going from here to there on account of the line level, and the fact its already not one but two harnessess to begin with. Also there is the pre-amp harness, that uses the pre-amps instead of your powered channels to send the signal to the Mach amps. This works fine unless you only have 1 or 2 pair of preouts on your headunit cause then have nothing to run your subs with.
Here is a link to more info on it.

right now im thinking ill just bypass the factory amps and hook up subs so they can supply my bass. Me and chuck got to talk today so i have a somewhat better understanding of this shitaki, but still not fully. Team is looking into a harness for me as well so HOPEFULLY i'll be "bumpin" by monday.

i could always use more help CMK, anything that reduces my chances of blowing something up is always good.

Pretty sure he went with an install kit. Rewiring the car would have (likely) involved making new high pass x-overs for his tweeters as I think they are crossed over at the amp (could be wrong there, but it would make sense) and I don't think he wanted to go through the process of designing/building a new x-over system.
