white orange / orange / white green / blue / white blue / green / white brown / brown

And you wont technically need a router downstairs, you can just use a normal access point in repeater mode connecting to the upstairs.

if you ever need to remember the order "the green grass around the blue lake" is a helpful little thing to get stuck in your head, then just remember to start with white orange. Also yes you can run two wireless networks in the same place, we have 2 in our apt, not sure why other then that we each had a wireless router. shouldn't have to many problems cept that brick walls really hurt the signal strength. good luck

they're not that expensive over newegg, i looked at buying one a while ago (but then found the cost of making my own would be almost the same as buying many 20-25ft cat5 cables)

hhmm......well, i have this 1000 foot roll of blue cat5 just laying around here and I guessing I'll probably need 75 to 100 feet. Going to run it through the walls. If I need to, I suppose I'll go buy one, but I'm only crimping 2 ends, so, just thought I would ask around.

You can pick up a crimper for liek 8 or 9 bucks. I have one and it's kindof a pile but it works when necessary.

radio shack ones are atleast 20 bucks... if you talking about an ACTUAL crimper for a cat 5 cable. They are so cheap already crimped on ebay, that unless u do it a lot, or enjoy it, doesn't really make any sense.(unless you need a ridiculously long piece)

                  no race car? becuz homeowner...

My "crimper" I've had for 8 years now cost me under 20 dollars when I bought it a long time ago. It's not very nice but it works. I've seen the same one some places for under 10 dollars.
