rims arent big enough, the rear end is way to long(i know the engine is back there)too long and suttle. The windows are really small. I know its a sports car but the dukes a hazard boys would be screwed if they tried to steal that car.

Also I would assume the rims were picked for optimum handling not bling appeal. Dukes of Hazard what?.... I hope with a car like that you main objective is not climbing in through the windows.

I know its a sports car but the dukes a hazard boys would be screwed if they tried to steal that car.The reason for those big WHEELS is to be able to fit those giant brake calipers(speed requires fast braking). I've heard that if you crash that thing at freeway speed, the car will just shatter due to carbon fiber. Apperently there are a few of those here in the cities, but i've yet to see one. BTW I doubt the dukes of hazard boys know how to operate that thing....

smaller means less rotating mass though..and it's wheels dammit, not rims

ok here is the deal i just got back from a trip to chi town. My cousin a porsche mechenic there says that it an accident that car must be dissasembled and the tube(carbon fiber) is sent off to Italy to be fixed/replaced. the brakes on the one i saw were ceramic/carbon composite, the wheels are magnesium, there is more carbonfiber and carbon kevlar in that car that either way it is just sweet car. Also side not the new porche Cayman is pimp little car too for those of us that can't affor the 450,000 price tag of the gt. The cayman only checks in at under a 100,000.

Here's what I've heard, from a very reputable resource at Valley Imports....
The guy who originally was buying the SLR is Randy Marten from WI, the president of Marten trucking (the white trailers w/ the blue dove on the side). He pre-orderd the SLR and when it came in, the Forum jumped all over it. The story ended up at the Board of Directors for his company, which in turn, got curious. Randy has a pretty nice stable of cars - I met him when he picked up his first 996TT. Ferarri's, etc.. something like 30 exotics. If you recall the 993 TT S that was red in the Valley Imports showroom, that was his too. This was the fastest production Porsche prior to the CGT. Anyways, the Board called for an audit of his car buying and as a result, he didn't take delivery of the SLR - I believe he sold it (and ironically made $$ off it
)Anyways, I asked a good friend of mine at VI who is buying it, and he wouldn't comment. I believe its b/c of the fall out of the SLR, but that's my guess. How I heard VI got on the list for the CGT wasn't related to Randy buying a lot of trucks, but I could be mistaken.
That's all i know....
