Because they are scams?

If you buy over the internet unless the shipping is free your really not saving anything. Shipping is where they usually get ya. For example, BMG and Columbia house, you may find some cd's that are a little cheaper than the store but then they charge like $2 per cd you order.

This Pyramid Scheme can be successful, you just have to put a lot of effort into it. I hope you didn't pay an entry fee, otherwise it will be years before you can get it back through profit.

Well; to you it may not be a business; but if the prices are "cheaper" or whatever.. Why not? It's worth saving money isn't it? Or would you rather just wait more time in your day to actually go out and do the shopping and waste the gas & pay more? I doubt it.its not a scam that cost you any money, i just want to invite people to see if they cant save some money on stuff that they already buy. statistics show that more and more people are buying everyday things online and i just wanted to show people how they might be able to do that. And just to re-iderate, No cost to set up a customer account. i understand everyones hesitation on this but for real i think some people can save some money and i just want to help them do that.

I could go into a multipage rant about how big of a ripoff Quixtar is. I did some research on this company a few years ago, heard all the big time promises, etc....then I read a lot about just how hard it is to even maintain status with them. You may re-coup your initial investment through some hard work, but the only way to really make a lot of money through them is to sell the training videos. They keep saying "we keep costs down by eliminating the middle man" which is bullshit, there are more middlemen in Quixtar than there is in any other organization (EVERYONE above you gets a cut of the profits, right?) Here is a challenge for you, find me a name brand item that is significantly cheaper than what I can buy it for at a local store or other internet site. Lets make it a JVC big screen tv, just for the sake of argument as that is the only thing I can think of that I want right now. 52" provide me with the model and price.
Good luck with this. Because you will need it.

well first off...you can buy a tv at a local store through this, for instance circut city is a partner store so any of there prices are availible and also can buy it and pick it up within 24 min or whatever thier current promotion is. The place were research shows you save money is like the everyday stuff, IE soap, makeup, vitiams, different diet aspects like bars and protien shakes. Also have about 3-4 big magizines that are similar to JC pennys with clothes and stuff like that. Electronics is probably the hardest to save money just because of the local electronic store ect, but if you are going to base your opinion on that alone then ya its not going to seem like a real "money saving" system. The person who signed me up gets none of the profit i make you just get the sales volume to go towards your total in order to make a bigger percentage of what you sell. So in that repsect its not a pyramid scheme. As far as your tv, you can get any circut city price and i just did a quick search and a JVC 52" Widescreen HD-ILA Projection TV gets $2599.99 through the company. seems at least comparible to an equivalent at some websites it checked. So i do agree with you as far as ya mybe you dont save a huge amount of money on a tv but it offers alot of different money saving purchases.

Please post some things you save on? O and dont forget shipping , and wait time..

What Kevin said^^^
I assume the TV you quoted is this one http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId=MODL027579&pathId=114&page=2 if so the price is about $400 more than I've seen them go at best buy.
Not to be a dick here, but when I was looking into the company, I did about 2 weeks worth of research and found that anything/everything they offered was either more expensive or inferior to what I could buy locally. Jesse (the guy that tried to sell me on it) kept trying to say "Its so much cheaper than retail" which may be true, it is cheaper than MSRP, but not cheaper than Walmart/Kmart/Target/Etc. They don't sell at MSRP, and all of them have a ton more purchasing power than Amway/Quixtar so they certainly buy for less and can pass the savings on to me.

If you can get it in a catalog and make a profit, you know damn well the market is already saturated with other sellers doing the same thing. Why would a company not do it themselves if it was such a large profit margin.
-
I'm all about making money on the internet; ebay, advertising, investing, whatever. I've done significant research on many of these programs, and honestly the are not worth the investment.
Create something unique don't be a pawn to the large establishment. That is how you will make and succeed on the net, its originality that makes you the money.
Look at Flickr, and now del.ic.ous, both of the creators of the deemed "web 2.0" apps, are now worth well over 20 million dollars; its the unqiue idea that got them there, not trying to sell other peoples products.
It's pretty simple economics to understand that the free market of the internet (without barriers) is going to let the consumer find the best price. As such stated, you will never be able to buy in the quantity that walmart or large retaliers purchase in, hell walmart controls MANY markets / producers.
The average person CAN and WILL find the best deal, if its through your quixar company, then that person already has a billion sellers he or she can buy from; but more then likely its through a different source. Why pay the middle man when you can purchase via a much more direct source for a cheaper price? There within that statement lies the inherent flaw of those programs, your just another middle man to add to the price.

damn JIM your so smart. ... you win again

sorry to say man, but quixtar (AMWAY) is made fun of for a reason, there is a reason USBank dropped their credit cards. My father knows a few people that made a killing on AMWAY, but chriminy, it's tough. if you want a pyramid scheme that works, PM me, I know a guy. I refuse to do it tho.
-
haha, quixtar/amway..
FUXCK!!! GOTTA GET MY PV/BV!!!! twitch
ya, i used to work for usbank and ppl with that card were psycho for this stuff.
some friends a while ago got sucked into it and are actually no longer friends because they were trying to sell us shit and get us to come to the 'business meetings' (worse than Jehovahs Witnesses, the recruiting little bastards) all the damn time.a friend at work does quixtar and i actually do buy some of the x/s energy drinks and meal replacement shakes. they are friggen delicious and alot cheaper than spending money on the vending machines at work, but you have to buy a case for any real savings.
good luck with it tho, recruit your ass off, and PRESSURE PRESSURE SELL SELL PV BV PV BV

Everyone on here has made valid points, and I myself have tried something of the nature. It CAN pay off, but you need lots of time and effort.... I give you props for trying though. Life is all about trials and tribulations, and either way you will come out with more knowledge then what you started with...good or bad!
If you feel it is a good idea, then stick with it....
