Madden 06 for Xbox...Freezing Issues

Playing the Superstar Mode and I got done with one season. I am on my second season and everytime I try to practice, or do the receiving drill at the performance facility, it stays on the loading screen and wont come off it. Didn't have this problem with the first season, or the running drill in the performance facility, so whats the deal? Not sure how many people are playing this, but thought I would try, as the IGN.com forum is fuckin' lame! Never had a problem with freezing on any other game, occasionally, I get a "cannot read disk" error when starting a game, but then I just restart, and its fine. The xbox is 5 years old too. I took it apart today and blew things out, but no luck. Could it be the game, its brand new, I've had it for like 48 hours now and iI can't see any apparent scratches that would cause this. Gettin' pissed! Pondering the old "Blockbuster Switcheroo" if its the game!

If you have a first gen xbox, it will start having problems, and you will need a new one soon or it will get worse on every game, unless it's madden.
