hey tjamz i'm sorry to hear about your friend, that sucks, i didn't read every page but was there a reason they did it? My dad used to deliver pizza and he got jumped with abaseball bat by 3 guys and they got like 23 bucks. I don't doubt the martial arts places suggest doing what you are saying. But there is no way to do it in the city of Fargo, which was my direct question to 2k3wrx. I first asked a sheriff about it (who happens to be a good friends brother) and he said that whoever said that was as full of shit as a christmas goose... LOL so then I had to follow up with the Fargo PD and see what the real deal was.
