Hahaha. Your fucked.X2 on the City of Fargo snow plow crews. First of all they do a terrible job. Second of all, they have no courtesy for other drivers on the road. And third, during the winter when they would plow over night, I'd have to go really fast so I don't get stuck in the 3' drift at the end of my driveway. Ridiculous.

There is always a drift at the end of the driveways. They do that in the cities too. Just shovel/snowblow or do like I do, throw the explorer in 4 and drive over it.
Think about how hard it is to plow when you can't see the edges of the roads. Its gotta suck for them.
As far as other drivers go, its out responsibility to stay the hell out of their way. They have a job to do and with all the other drivers out there it can be a pain in the ass for them.

All you guys that are bitching should get out your shovels and clean the streets yourselves. The city works hard at cleaning the streets. They have a hard time keeping up due to the rapid growth and being under budget, not to mention keeping all the equipment in working order. So get out there and start shoveling if you think you could do better, would you rather they did nothing at all? Come on, think a little bit before you start complaining, or better yet, be a MAN and take it in stride. Thank you, that is all.

My favorite is when the plows roll through the alley and stack up snow in front of your garage
Maybe because we actually have plows? We are short on them however.

Now i agree you could go easy on them cuz they do get underfunded and whatnot, but these people pay for it already so why should it be there responsibility to do the work they already paid for. If you paid for someone to work on your car, and they were slow and doing an unsatisfactory job, and you complained about them, should it be your job to do the work you paid for.....I know it isn't an exact comparison, and i agree they could lighten up on them a bit, but it is the same concept. Just my thoughts on it.

My dad runs plow for the City of Fergus Falls, the city doesnt have them work overtime or weekends unless theres a couple feet, they just have 1 or 2 people open the main roads and leave the rest till they dont have to pay overtime. The city back there is a bunch of cheap asses, and basically if it snows on the weekend your screwed till monday at 12am, when the work week starts.

Never did I once say they need to come clean off my driveway. Can you please show me where I said that? I said they need the little things that go on the one end of the plow, so that they can put it down while they're plowing in front of a driveway, so they don't put a 2 foot pile of snow there. And for the record I know of a place where they do this exact thing, its in Minot. When I lived w/ my parents there, I watched the snow plows do this MANY MANY times. How hard can that be? Oh no I have to pull a lever every 10 seconds while I drive down some streets.

That little mythical atachment you speak of will not only cost the taxpayers more money but it will also slow down the plowing. It takes a snow-plow 20 seconds to cruise down a street and take care of the snow. This attachment would have the initial cost to purchase it, install it and maintain it. Now in addition to that, you have to train drivers on how to use it. Now if they don't use it on one person's driveway they sure as hell are going to bitch about it. The driver will not be able to go as fast down the street as they have to use the lever to operate the damn thing. Instead of 20 seconds to clear one side of the block you are looking at 45 seconds or a minute. Multiply this additional time by every single street in Fargo that needs to be cleared and you have a helluva lot of extra time and manpower to clear the streets.
That attachment you speak of is pointless. Get off yer lazy ass and shovel the damn driveway.
