High boost?

if you hit fuel cut, your car hesitates and "cuts" off really bad, you'll know if it you feel it, just like the engine stops for a slight period of time.
if your popping when you stomp the gas, check your plugs and wires.
if he's got nothing but "free mods" and he's got uncontrollable boost, there's a good chance that the stock fuel system wouldnt be able to provide enough fuel, the stock intercooler would get pretty hot, and that he's picking up a fair amount of knock

yeah actually mine was doing a similair thing, luckily i was still tuned for about 24psi, but it being so cold i ran extremely rich, like around 9:1, and i got a fuel cut, i think it may just be a miss, simpley 'cause it can't burn it all, i'm honestly not 100% sure why i was doing it, but at least i know i wasn't leaning out (nice to have a wideband in the car) But my fix was easy, just turn down the boost, and the fuel too, and just retune in the summer.

When I had nothing but a fuel pump, a bigger turbo, stock injectors, and a boost controller, I fuel cut on cold days, a quick tune and that was all gone...
That is actually exactly what I have. I got the 450cc's (auto came with 390) But I also got a manual ECU so it has the proper fuel maps. Thinking of getting a SAFC here soon but i need to wait till summer so i can dyno tune it.

bah, you don't need a dyno to tune such a small turbo. just a datalogger to see where you're getting knock and/or losing timing; keep your o2 nice and smooth around .88-.94, i've seen different numbers for different years, so you should ask around..to do it? or to do it right?
