I think it looks sweet. I'd be willing to say that easily gives toy story era computer animation a run for its money in real time...

cool how the rotors light up

I like the sound. The BOV flutter and the different engine pitches of the different cars, very nice. I wonder if they'll have it in surround so that mid and rear engine sound would be behind you and front is in front?

I find the physics and simulation aspects of the Forza series not only good, but better than the GT series. I understand that GTR on the PC is a better simulation, but I haven't tried it myself.

Fwiw, I've driven on Brainerd, Mid America, and the Nurburgring. Many of the guys that work on Forza have a ton of track time and a few of them daily-drive their Ferrari's or 911 Turbos to work. They know what they're doing and they've got plenty of passion and understanding of motorsport.

How many of you people complaining about the realism of the game have been on track at all?

Even so, it's a game, meant primarily to be fun. As much as I love Forza, I like the Initial D 3rd stage arcade game even better... and not because of its commitment to realism 🙂

Forza one did that. The engine sounds were so good that sometimes i'd wear ear plugs and crank my stereo so i could feel the motor sounds but not damage my hearing. The audio they used for the 911 GT3 and the various NSXs sounds simply amazing... right behind your head.

I'm good friends with the guy that provided the samples for the Supras and AE86 in Forza 1. He's also the Supra in Forza2.

                Playstation hugger...

If I recall you can drift and shit goin that fast in GT4...in addition I know for a fact that you cut through grass to make your track times faster...thats realistic for sure :icon_scratch: 😉

Not to mention there's NO DAMAGE AT ALL in the GT series...thats really dumb if you ask me.

And Forza 2's online gaming is gonna be amazing. They are gonna have weekly tourniments, and if you are good enough, they will have a live channel so people can watch YOU race. Read up on the multi-player aspects of Forza 2...their fucking amazing...

well there was 700 vechiles in GT4 and there is a reason for this too. Many manufacturers will not give out the rights to their vechiles to be put in a game and smashed up, but they will give them if they are to be kept nice and shiny. And you can do the same thing in forza to finish first. And id like to see you drift at all in GT4, you recall wrong.

i recall wrong?...lol...pretty sure you ALWAYS cut accross the grass in order to make your time faster so :p:

GT series are arcade based games...thats why i dont like them. There's no aspect to them besides go out and drive and pass the game. That's just boring eventually...It's the multi-player aspect of games that keep people playing. This is why Halo 2 is still being played by thousands of people everyday...if there was no multi-player in the game, it would not have been successful.

And you are correct about GT4 having a bunch of games bc there's no damage...however Forza 2 has more than 300 vehicles. I'd rather have 300 vehicles that can be smashed up than 700 that cant...being able to hit a wall going 60 and having your car get no damage from it is dumb. That and GT4 has so many cars that have really no purpose...they have cars from the early 1900's that top out at 50mph or less...to some that may also be fun, but it's a racing game...it's just overkill and not necessary.

And Forza 2's online gaming will absolutly OWN anything GT can come up with. Seriously look at www.forzamotorsport.net ...check out all the updates on how the online gaming will work.

And from what I can tell, GT-HD's graphics look nearly the same as Forza 2's (if anything I think Forza 2 looks slightly better)...so when it comes to you smashing the graphics of Forza 2, I'd highly suggest looking at what the company you support puts out for graphics first.

And yes I'm an Xbox humper...and am damn proud of it :icon_cheers:

once again your ramble about things you dont know. GT series are hardly arcade based games, and about your precious damage hahaha. No damage is better than extremely un-realistic damage. You hit a wall at 200mph in Forza and yea, you get smashed up, whoopie, but you can keep driving, thats a real simulation! Whoo hoo!

The reason that they include old cars that can go like 5 mph, and concept cars that could never be driven is because the game is about cars, and driving them, sure some of the cars cant go fast, but wouldnt it be cool to expirence the first car that was ever made? The car that spawned all others? I think so.

Not in a modern day racing game...if i bought a game that said "Past-times' Cars" or something...then I would...but it's a racing game. I could give two shits if they have a ford model T...however it'd be cool if I could put a fartcan on one in the game hehe lolz:icon_cheers:

GT4 is much more of an arcade game than Forza...dur. You can't argue over that. And of course in Forza you can crash @ 200mph and still drive, but GL getting over 40mph...everything is royally fucked on the car...it's kinda like respawning in halo...if you couldnt respon after you died, who the fuck would play the game?...same concept in forza, except that your car just gets fucked up to the point where it's still movable, but that's it. Also, in normal Forza gameplay where you dont PURPOSELY drive the car into a wall @ 200mph, damage is very realistic. If you slightly tap something with your front end, your aero is damaged so you cant go quite as fast on a longer straight, etc...

Hell, if they made it so your car wouldnt drive at all after 200mph, I think that would detur people from buying the game in the first place bc then it becomes "too realistic" so to speak. And another thing with Forza's liciencing for getting the cars they did is that they can't go upside down (if my memory serves me correct)...otherwise car manufactures wouldn't allow them to be in the game.

And please tell me the things makers of the GT series are doing to make their game realistic...Forza makers crashed several cars to get impact sounds in the game, dyno'd hundreds of cars...in this game Hondas, for example, will actually have loud VTEC...especially with many n/a mods done to them. They even went as far as to take one of the guy's Integras and tried jamming it into gear w/o a clutch in order to get a REAL grinding noise for a worn out transmission...The lengths the makers went through to make this game as real as possible is quite astonishing.

la la, the things that Polyphony digital are doing to make the game realistic? i cant even believe that you said that. exerpt from "Driving the game: The GT Expirence" by Leo Hartas---

"We conduct photo shooting session for the car by taking lot of shots. Roughly 500 photos are taken per car.... The basis of the track research starts with photographs, 20-30,000 of them for each individual circut... Every square meter of the track is photographed and the image logged and linked to its exact position on the track...The team also makes use of satellite photographs combined with GPS and existing topographical maps...Team members attend race events at the circuits to take photographs of the location when it is being used for race days..A test driver with 15 years expirence of Nurburgring drove a Nissan Skyline on both the real tarmac and in the virtual world of GT. The results were the lame time in the real car was 8 minutes 15 seconds, in GT the time was 8 minutes 20 seconds, a difference of only 1 percent between the two"

So yea, they aren't doing anything to make it realistic.

forza isn't as realistic as your trying to show ppl. Like why does the motor get hurt when you rev limit? if you do it for like say 20 sec your motor is toast...WTF that doesn't happen in RL!!!!!

Also you can't use load to build full boost.... why can't you put a car in 5th at say 3grand and see full boost on a turbo civic when you hit the brakes to "brake boost".....

If GT is so "un-realistic" why do REAL car makers use it's engine to test their concept cars?
