So. Are seatbelt tickets harmful -record wise?
-
Because apprarently an officer on N.P., taking a left onto broadway thought it'd be cute to turn around, pull me over in the alerus bank parking lot and slap me with a 60 dollar no seat belt ticket.
I see that its the end of the month so theres no way I was getting out of it with just a warning.
Anyways, how harmfull are these. i'm on thin ice as of right now
-
hmm dunno. what part of the ticket would it say
-
the list of points doesnt say anything about a seatbelt except driver/party responsible to equip child with a belt

So I take it they passed the law allowing seat belt violations to be a primary/pull over-able offense in Fargo/Cass? If they didn't and he said that's the reason he pulled you over then you could get out of it probably. Otherwise I don't believe they are a moving violation...

I knew they couldn't pull you over JUST for not having a seatbelt.

Its kind of one of those tickets that they are just looking to get you pulled over and then see if there is anything else they can get you with.
well there was. he told me he let the no front license plate thing go which would've been another 60 bucks. so it couldve been worse. but still kinda gay to get nabbed on the slowest moving street in fargo right infront of where you were heading -
stupid license plate laws....but yeah, that is the only reason they were able to pull you over. Still secondary offense in ND http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/people/outreach/state_laws-belts04/safeylaws-states.htm

atleast during the end of the month

meh who knows.
kind of lame for it to happen though. especially on the slowest moving street in fargo when theres far worse shit going on infront of him.
