I say remove it, ESPECIALLY if you have a turbo, I have heard of instances where pulling the cat can actually lower your torque due to lack of back pressure so you may want to think about that as well before proceding with this mod. The reason I say go for it on a turbo is because the turbo itself causes some backpressure, but you want that exhaust gas gone ASAP from the hot side of the turbo to get your power up.

id say keep that cat especially with pretty open exhaust...your goin to murder whatever lowend power that little gsr had...if you get a turbo get big exhaust and no cat...but for now you should keep that on there esp on a 1.8liter

      my .02

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

Yeah, that basically what I said too. I didn't look at his sig to see if he was running turbos or not, so I gave the broad range answer.

you need backpressure for lowend torque...taking the cat out dramatically reduces backpressure...

atleast with high flow you have some backpressure and you will still most likely have "higher" flow at the top end...i say that in quotes because some "high flow" can be jokes....

When i had my custom cat back made the shop had a "high flow cat" for 60 bones or so. He also had a "real" "high flow cat" wich ended up costing me 120 bones.

I am positive i have a good high flow cat. I would not want to waste my money on some BS cat.
