dodge 1500 or 2500
-
i have sorta been looking for a dodge 1500 but i found an extremly good deal on a 2500 same year im looking for, does anyone know if there is a big differance on gas millage that is basically what i am looking at, i could care less how it rides, if anyone knows about the millage differance let me know

MPG on both suck, especially considering i'm sure you are looking at a gas model. The 2500 will also ride a bit rougher than the 1500 and also has a slightly higher stance. If it's a gas, which I'm guessing it is, expect around 10-14mpg...if it was a 2500 diesel I'd be all for it...more power, better mpg, more reliable...but you do what it want.

ok torbert told you this at least 1000 times on the matter of trucks i dont want any of your advice.....period

If they both have the same engine (gas) theres only going to be 1-2 mpg difference. If neither have the magnum forget both of them. Also are you aware of the trans problems? Has either of them been rebuilt?

i havent found a spcific 1500 yet still looking but found a really good 2500 with really low miles so am not worrying to much about that thanks for the help though
-
because i jsut wanted to know if there was a big differance between the 2.......

What year are you looking at? The difference in gas mileage will be fairly small, the 3/4 ton will have shorter gearing so it will be reving a little higher when cruising down the highway. Both will suck gas, my 1500 gets around 10mpg driving around town with a little highway driving. It gets about 6 mpg pulling my trailer.

if you get one, be sure and get the ctd. and wha year are you looking at. they said they fixed their tranny problems on the newer ones

2000-2002 roughly the 2500 im looking at is a 01

i just need a truck because i dont want to drive my car in the winter plus i am a big hunter and it would help if i could stop going to go borrow my dads everytime i want to go out
-
i know where there is a red chevy diesel... pretty sure its a 1994ish and a 1500
-
well i would only really get a dodge and i may consider a ford other then that thats all i would take
