I am currently using Unicel as my cellular provider. They use cdma technology in their phones. So does Verizon. What I want to know is if a Verizon based cdma phone can be used with my carrier? If you don't know, don't respond please.

I know I can't give you the answer you want, but its yes and no, it depends on the phone and the programming whether it will work. So some verizon phones will work and some won't. You will have to take the phone to a Unicel store and see if they can program it to work.

Depends on the phone and if it locked to the provider or not. If the phone is locked to verizon, then you are SOL, if not then you are good. In my experience most phones that you get from verizon, that have the verizon logos and verizon software are locked to verizon unless you reflash them with the generic firmware from the manufacturer. it is easy enough to go on ebay and find an unlocked phone that is not set to a carrier.
