dog neutering question

my dog just got neutered on Saturday, and he's doing a lot better. The vet gave me a cone to put on him but it doesnt really stop him from licking. I know he's not supposed to bite at his stiches but he licks them constantly. Does anyone know if this is a big deal. I try to stop him but when I put im in his kennel when I leave he'll lick.

Only thing you can do is try your best to stop him from licking.

I think there is a spray you can get to spray them that tastes bitter. I don't know what it is called though.

ya it is bad for him, not really sure why maybe infections or it could open the wound

We used that same stuff for our dog when she was a pup. Its called "Bitter Apple"

Nope, I used it on my dog just a couple months ago, couple licks he was done with that..

Cut his tongue off...he wont lick anything then...
