Nope. In fact, I've put 10 miles on it since P10 and 30 miles for the month prior. I have had that car for three years and haven't put more than 10 k in that time. It's a chosen hobby. No different than being big into collecting guns and spending hours cleaning and detailing them. Hell it's no different than buying a house and wanting to keep it in tip top shape. You are constantly cleaning it. The only difference is that you dont take your house to a show. You want to protect your investment. I certainly see no problem with it. Who are you or anybody else to pass judgement on someone for that.

do you still live in your house or is for the strict purpose of making sure it stays clean? to buy a house and keep it MINT is one thing but your comparing it to paying 200k for painting it 3 tone Kandy pearl and never living in cause you dont wanna damage the "mint jdm interior". theres nothing wrong with having a nice car and not driving it i never passed judgment other than saying that its not for ME. putting that much money into a car is usually not a very wise investment cuase you will maybe find ONE person many years down the road that will give a third what you paid for it. its purely for yours and others visual enjoyment. BUT if thats what youre into PROPS. im not trying to argue about whos right or wrong with investing money in show cars, just to most people, cars are for driving... I LOVE SHOW CARS! HIN WAS AWESOME lol

I agree that cars should be driven. I like my car to look nice and i want it to be show worthy but my first priority is that it is drivable and made to beat on. I don't drive my car when it is raining, or cold, or in the winter, but that is cuz i have a winter beater/dd that i would rather drive, but whenever it is nice, i drive my car and i drive it hard. And MOST cars as an investment is retarded.....god forbid your car get a paint chip, it mite lose $200 in value, better just not drive it. I respect ppl for building show cars and have no problem with them doing so, i will just build my cars to drive and enjoy them.

This got taken the wrong direction Wes I agree with you I enjoy keeping my car nice and showing it off when I can. The difference is that if I bend a rim on the curb or someone keys it I can't really afford to fix it right away. Now if I built, lets just use the chubster for example which is a 1957 bel air two door hardtop built by boyd coddington for about $275,000, and never drove it just because i might damage it that would be retarded because if i can afford to spend that kind of money on a car I can damn sure afford to fix it if the paint gets chipped or I break the rear end doing doughnuts in the wal mart parking lot.

Except most people don't drop six figures on a car and then live in it.

Speaking of people who have car that just sit in there garage, isn't there some guy in the Fargo area that bought a ferrari a few years and had it put in his garage by a forklift, to keep the mileage as low as possible, never to be driven again. I think I heard that somewhere. It's like seeing a wild tiger or panther in a cage, it's a beast the should be let loose but instead they've stolen it's dignity and keep it locked up. That's why I like to the oldschool ferraris, porsches, lambos, ect, for example. when they have all the scratches, scrapes and rock chips on them from doing what they were intended to do, drive. It gives them a history, character and an identity with plenty of stories to tell.

I guess you could say the old school car with all it flaws and blemishes from living an exciting and adventurous life is like the old man down the block that everybody respects and tells great stories of the gold ol' days.
While the new car with little to no miles that just sits in the garage is like some lazy ass teenager who won't get off his ass and even try to find a job and thus has nothing worthwhile to tell or passon, basicaly useless.

Imagine if people used the same logic on there kids as they did there show cars. "No, the baby can never leave the house, or the special padded room for the matter. He could get a cut or scratch and then he'll be.....(dundundun)DAMAGED!". Yes this is an extreme example but if you think about it, Baby = mental damage from being locked up his whole life and Car = physical/mechanical damage over a long period of time, just because it's not moving doesn't mean you don't have to maintain it. So, in short, not letting them out can be worse than letting them out.
Because knowing is half the battle.

Sterling Archer: Oh my god! You killed a hooker!

Sterling Archer: No Cyril! When they're dead they're just hookers!

You guys seriously need to get a grip. To worry about someone wanting to keep their car clean and nice and away from the general public. There has to be more important things to worry about instead of such trivial shit. I'm done wasting anymore bandwidth on this thread. Some people just want to bitch for just that, to bitch.
