I know its a street legal event. I hope you will keep letting people run on slicks. I know I plan on using slicks next year. Its worthless for me to think about ruining another set of RT615s out there. Its also sweet to see dave and matt rocket down the track on these days. I really dont care if they would let the people with slicks go right after they do the prepping, it would be awsome, but I know with the slicks ill hook up WAYYYY better then before.

Isn't the whole point of the cones to keep the street tires from tearing up the groove. Therefore leaving the groove nice and sticky for the slick cars. Yeah thats it, so why do it the other way?

              Re-read the thread...

They weren't letting some of the guys with slicks run in the groove. They wouldn't let drag radial guys run in the groove.

I read the thread. And I was also right next to Heath when he went up and told the guy at the starting line that he had slicks, and asked to run in the groove. The guy went over to his RX7, looked at the tires to make sure they are slicks, and I believe I heard him say he'd move the cone for him. That was too close to the end tho and the shut it down. So all you guys with slicks have to do, is politely let the guy know that you have slicks, and you would like to run in the groove.

^ Yep, I remember that. I'm still kinda mad that they didn't shut down staging lanes and just told everyone to go home while 20 cars were still in staging. Whatever, I had fun the rest of the day.

i did not run this time due to lack of funds. which made me mad as i so wanted to run the blower in the cool air. but that is another story.
i did however come watch and take some pics and some vid.
i so enjoy coming out to watch. even more to race, but that does not always happen due to funds.
the two times i ran this year i had no issues that i could not deal with. street tires suck for traction, but accept it and still run and enjoy it. then again i am stock from beginning of car to end of car. well front and rear STB's but thats it.
i also am not out there to make obscene number of runs. made 6 the first time, july 7. made 5 the other time aug 25. called it good. mayb after i get some mods i will want to run more. mayb not.
just happy to be able to run and watch others run. in a safe environment. street racing is so not safe.

thanx tintmasters. hope to be able to do it again next year. if not then i guess i go to bracket weekends and run trophy.
