K what the hell is this CableOne/KVLY11 KXJB 4 drama shit?
-
What i gather is that KVLY/KXJB want money from CableOne to broadcast their programming in HD?
Is this shit supposed to last forever or will it be resolved shortly. I need my NFL playoffs in HD or I'll be pissed.
Does Dish network carry HD local channels? Or is this our only option in the area.....
-
CableOnes HD line up is pathetic already, no need to make it even more shitty.

KVLY's sister is (was) KXJB's girlfriend and I heard that she got drunk on New Year's Eve and made out with Cable One at a party on 18th Street by MSUM. Could just be rumors but that's what I heard. I understand why KVLY and KXJB are pissed but the ads they've been running are a little immature IMO. The girl was a whore and everyone knew it!

so what youre saying is that cableone doesnt like sluts

Over the air HD sucks though...Out of curiosity, why do you say that ? i have used an off the air hd antenna going on a year now on both my tv's, i like it, the only issue is in fargo/ moorhead area you have to point the antenna north north east if you can (the signal is directional), and it helps if you are able to get it up high. other than that it has exelent picture, as hd should. kvly and kxjb want to charge cable one to brodcast their signal, which makes no sense within the normal viewing area (within a hundred to hundred fifty miles) because imo, if you can get it off the air why the hell should cable service be charged to serve it to their customers, it is free-to-air, which means no matter who gets it it should be free, cableones issue is if they have to pay for it then they will have to pass the buck, which would cost the customer more. Their point by dropping the stations from the linup is to enrage the customers and make the stations see the light when their ratings drop, and hope the customers will contact the stations, in turn pressuring those stations into keeping it free-to-air.
it is a power struggle is what it amounts to, if anything airing it on cable is only benifiting the stations themselves by getting them out there to customers who might not have, or be able to put up an antennae. -
Cable one has to pay discovery, TLC, mtv, hgtv, cnn, cspan, vh1, etc... to use their channels. Now the local stations are pretty much saying if you pay everyone else, then why the fuck are we giving it to you for free. From the sounds of things it sounds like the locals are going to still broadcast over the air, but HD will no longer be over the air. I could be wrong though, I'm not sure how all that shit works.
IMO cable one can suck a dick anyways (rate increase of almost $30 now in 3 years, with an almost constant $2 per month for the last six months). That money damned well better be going somewhere. Remember their old "satellite is going up again, we will never do that" campaign, BULLSHIT.
I was pumped when I started seeing midcontinent billboards in town, then I found out it was west fargo only.

I have had the same bill with CableOne ($124.88) since I moved into my place back in Oct 2006.... Do just certain parts of CableOne's service go up? I hear people getting upset over it, but don't see the issue myself :icon_scratch: (Although $125/month is a lot of friggin money for internet and cable/HD...)

Even with powered antenna amps etc...
Even when a channel does manage to come in, i hate the pixelation stuff that happens from a low signal (ghosting etc), and how the whole thing just randomly cuts out...
