Camaro Project

This is my little brother's car. The engine has developed a knock and needs to be rebuilt.

We got the engine out of the Camaro last night.

The engine is on the stand now. We'll probably get the heads off and the oil pan off tonight.

Nice project, i see it must be a 98, how many miles are on that thing? Anyway, what kind of stuff you have planned for the rebuild?
On a side note, must suck having a little brother with a faster car eh? especially when its stock LOL

The engine done be broke. A nasty rod knock. I've got pics of the shitty bearing that I'll put up later.

As far as a faster car, I don't think that is a problem. His shit doesn't even run. This engine problem is after having a clutch go out, chipped pinion gear and now this. lawlz Camaro FTL

That bearing is from the #5 cylinder. :eek:

Lack of lubrication. The #5 bearing was the one that is fawked, and the #7 bearing turned out to be spun.

120k or so on the motor.

My brother brought the car home one Friday night with it knocking like that. Earlier that week I was helping him with a squeaky belt tensioner and a coolant leak and ended up adding 3 quarts of oil to it. He done blowed it up. 3 quarts low + cold starts + teenage driver = dead LS1
