I could help out with it if you like, kind of hard to diagnose the problem over the interbutt. A few things. What is he/she trying to connect to? What I mean is, are they trying to connect to wireless internet like i29 or go moorhead via a dedicated card, or are they trying to connect to a wireless access point (router) that connects to cable internet? If they are trying to connect to a router, DHCP may not be enabled on the router, requiring each computer accessing the router to supply its own IP address and DNS information. If you have DHCP enabled on the router, the laptop should automatically be assigned an IP address when you connect. Let me know if any of that sounds familiar or if you work it out. PM me if you need further help. I can make a house call if you are really hosed

you need to connect a computer directly to the router with an ethernet cable (one should have come with it) and access the router directly at http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.100.1 or something similar (depends on the router brand) then you will need to log in to the router, on a linksys router the default user/pass is blank/admin (ie don't put anything for the user name). for motorola or netgear or anything I don't know the default pass. the option to enable dhcp should be somewhere on one of the first tabs. i use a different firmware than stock so I can't help there. see what brand and model number the router is and then google something like "linksys WRT54g enable DHCP" but with your brand and model and you should find some sort of a guide.

Thanks for the help. Got it figured out. I guess Toshiba didn't send out this model of computer with all the right programs.
