Not possible to register or insure it in the USA with all i's and t's dotted and crossed.

$19k is more than you'd pay in japan + cost of shipping, but it's got a fair bit of tasteful mods and its actually here on US shores and drivable. That says something.

78k miles is also low for a 17 year old car.

I donno. For $15k I might do it (if i had $15k to dump on a toy car right now..) It's basically my ideal JDM import. Right body, right color, right mods...

I was looking at a 91 R32 GTR with 110k. Proof of rebuilt motor, slightly upgraded turbos, clutch and flywheel, Koyo rad with E-Fans, Defi guages, Tien coils with the rest of the basic suspension mods, Volk TE37 and the stock GTR rims, Tint/autostart/security system, Bremb BBK, and a 4-point roll bar. No rust with good paint.

It was cheaper then that car, and it was $USD

            19k isn't hardcore overpriced, dude.

Like Thrash said, not a bad price for one with decent starting mods and low mileage.

The CL post is a bit weird. He's trying to sell it in February. He says he'll deliver it anywhere. he says its only driven in summer.

Seems like you can choose 2 of the 3 statements. If nothing else, a buyer is going to want to drive it.

That said -- I've never seen an R32 GT-R in person. I'd like to see one, get a ride in one, etc.

I'm not serious about buying now, but I'm tempted to email the guy and tell him that I'd love to see his car with no intention of a purchase anytime soon, and I wouldn't ask him to drive it.. just for a ride. Wonder if he'd go for it? Most car guys that know they've got something special are happy to show off a bit for an interested and knowledgable fellow car guy.

KA : you said you were looking at a different R32. Did you actually see it / drive it? Where was it?

It was located in B.C. The car sold before we could work anything out. I emailed him and it sold the next day. There is always another car another day........ I would rather get a stock one, and a black one. I know a place that has one, but not available again until snow goes away.

We ussually have a couple skylines that come down for P10, but I do not remember if they came this year. Hopefully will have a R33 for P10 next year.

I know the price wasn't that bad. But there were some mods that are not "appealing" as a potential buyer with out the rest of the supporting items.

Like what? If you tack on more shit, the price goes up ya know, and there's a greater chance you'll scare away potential buyers.

This car has basic bolt-ons, which is expected to set the car above a stock GT-R. It's enough to justify a $16k+ price tag, and since it's virtually unmolested, the buyer can pick up the car and still plan out the engine's mods.

If it already had, say, HKS2835R's and fuel work, a normal buyer would be wary of getting this car since he doens't know how much hell the internals/drivetrain has been put through, who did the installs/tune, how reliable it is, etc.

I'd rather buy a slightly modded car with a few extra parts for a few extra $$ than buy some 650awhp GT-R that got tuned by some guy I have never met and dive headfirst into what could be a money pit that I never saw coming.

                  See where I'm coming from?

Same thing goes for just basic mods. I idiot can screw anything up.

The cage, bride race seats(I guess it comes down to which ones) Boost controller with no fuel upgrades, I guess they could be there and he doesnt know it....... I guess the clutch and flywheel are a good thing. But the coilovers could be shot.......

I would rather spend the 12-13K for a stocker and do everything my self.

First off, you're up past your bedtime.

I can understand the roll cage, that's the only red-flag in the mod sheet that concerns me.

But you know as well as I do, a stock RB26 and ECU can handle more boost and not have any problems unless there's a serious mechanical failure in the engine.
