Why is seemingly everbody in the "Republican Pary" brainwashed

all of the people in public office calling for gun control have armed body guards.
hypocrites.
the point of the 2nd amendment is to keep an armed population so that they can, via force if necessary, fire their government when it no longer serves its purposes. an armed man is a citizen. an unarmed man is a subject. one of the cheif greivances of the colonists was the british army shacking up in peoples homes unwelcome and uninvited. the framers designed the constitution to ensure that a sufficient majority of the populace could overthrow ANY government.
You shouldn't trust anyone in government that is proposing cover-their-ass anti-gun laws. They'll always have armed body guards. But they still feel the need to disarm you and limit your ability to fire them.
That doesn't sound like the mentality of a public servant to me.. it sounds like the mentality of a public master... someone who thinks themselves fit to rule.
Gun owners and 2nd amendment supporters aren't kooks. The 2nd amendment is there beacuse without it, the other 9 are just worthless paper, to be twisted and extorted for the whims of the politicians. Just like the dollar.
Would you trust the feds with the management of your rights after seeing how they've managed your currency?

I'm ok with gun control in the effect that I don't think convicted felons (especially those with a violent past) should be allowed to possess a fire arm. So background checks are ok with me....as is a waiting period to receive a gun.
However, I am not in favor of "assault weapons bans" as I personally deer hunt with an AK47. Its a darn good gun that is accurate and seldom needs any sort of maintenance.

I agree 100%...background checks dont bother me one bit... The thing I have to complain about is when the government coincidentally has the check system down during a weekend (when most gun shows happen) the same time the million mom march happens...

Still totally pro background checks though.

If u buy from a dealer the NICS check is instant and gives u 3 responses:
Procede - U can give the buyer the gun right now
Deny - U cannot sell a gun to this person (we had one where the person on the line asked if the guy was still there and if there's any police officers present... must have had a bad warrant out on him, and glad he didnt get the gun)
Delayed - They have 3 days to check on it and get back to u...if they dont have anything by then u can sell to the person...our policy at the shop is we arent selling it unless we get an ok from them, just to be safe (Delay is usually if u have a common name, some things are questionable, etc.)

I've been listening to "Conservative Talk Radio" for a few days straight and haven't heard Ron Paul mentioned once.. it makes me sad AND angry. So now all these people are endorsing McCain and saying "No, RLY - he's conservative! SRSLY!" As if we should believe them. There really isn't a conservative candidate BEING MENTIONED at ALL in the news.. so it seems like we're going to be stuck with bullshit, because people won't keep themselves informed.
I'm not saying I keep myself well-informed.. but I'm trying.. and the more I learn, the more our current "choices" for candidates scare me. Gun ownership comes up a lot.. I own guns. multiple guns. Of the guns I currently own, only two are semi-autos, and I spent a lot of time and money training in the use of one in particular when I was still planning on going into law enforcement. I carried my glock for work for almost two years. If I decide to go back into the field someday, I want to use MY firearm, because I trust MY firearm over one somebody else has used and maintained. Not looking forward to losing my rights at all.. semiautos aren't the problem, it's their wrongful use. Christ, look at what they did on airplanes.. no toenail clippers. No lighters. Please, no more than an ounce of anything fluid. No bringing your own bottled drink. Knitting needles A-OK.
'gun control' isn't my biggest issue.. I don't even know what my biggest issue is. I guess it would have to be that WE'RE ALL SCREWED because Americans in general COW DOWN to whatever the media feeds them. Of course it's right, it's on the news! Now go watch The Biggest Loser, or you won't be able to keep up around the water cooler tomorrow!
Happy Presidents' Day, everybody.
