and i think my first question was indeed relevant to solving the problem... if the original amp didn't work and all they did was put in a new amp and it worked then it would eliminate many of these suggestions... like the fuse/ground/RCAs and so onOr you could have read the opening paragraph....

so the other weekend i got a amp kit installed into my car, and it took them forever they called while doing this and told me that the subs/amp was not working and that they tried a couple of different amps and that none of those worked either. then later that night i get a call telling me i need to buy a new amp cause mine was dead. the amp worked fine the last time i used this summer and has not been touched until now. i was wondering if an amp could die just randomly when not being used or would the people installing the amp do something to kill it? Have not had time to check if the amp actually does not work. -
Ya man exactly, i asked if the subs worked after the new amp was put in... in the first paragraph it say subs/amp... but really its only the amp... my question was legit

I'll give you that, but nothing you asked would have helped beyond what Jason (FG2) already suggested, so, while "legit", it was redundant as it was posted in the original post already that the amp worked before (last summer) and that then was the last time the amp was used.

Welcome to the internet, if you have something useful to contribute we'll all be happy to listen, if you ask dumb questions (especially those that have already been answered) expect to be flamed.
