I'm not sure but I'd have a hard time believing they'd do anything after somebody has a product for over a year, I bet he broke it / fucked it up and now wants me to fix it or some shit for him...Well I wouldnt do shit and tell him to quit trying to scam you....
-
then you are fine, you should give us his email so we can send him mean emails. like i would any other scammer
-
Tell that guy to get fucked, what a joke. Over a year later. Scam.

he's SOL I had a similar problem years ago. The only thing he can do is actually start a legal process, which will cost him more than the cost of the player im sure.Yeah, i still can't even fathom contacting a seller of a product over a year later and being like hey... I want my money back? and claiming that the unit was fucked up
-
sounds like a scam to me.... tell him that its been over a year and if any damages occured during shipping, he should take it up with the shipping company.... but in that case, they will tell him he is SOL because its been over a year... its pretty hard to believe that someone would not open a pakage of something they bought to see if it was ok.... so i still say scam

-
the only way i wouldnt check something like that, is if i had enought money to not care, and if i didnt care, i wouldnt be emailing you about it, so yea, from all angles, its a scam
-
Theres nothing he can do through ebay or paypal after the initial time he has to file a complaint is up i buy and sell on ebay all the time and am 100% sure of that. Yes he could take legal action against but as stated above would cost him way more than the dvd/nav unit you sold him.

I'm curious as to what his feedback scores look like.... Maybe this isn't the first time he's done this. Maybe eBay has had this problem with him before.
If you have a good reputation on eBay (ie. feeback scores are good), I sure wouldn't worry about it. And even if not, like everyone has been saying, he's waited way too long to do anything about it. But I'd definitely let someone at eBay know about what's going on so they can stop this jagoff from doing it to someone else.
Something tells me he's not a stand-up kinda guy and eBay might already know this...FWIW. Good luck though.

What a joke......get as much info from him as you can and then we can all bother him (phone number and maybe address and that). There is no way he wouldn't look at a used item to see if it was ok, and he is building a custom car over the course of a year, but paid someone to install a headunit??
-
Give him my phone number if he has an issue with it. I can vouch for the condition of the unit just days before you sold it.
-
He sent me another email... wtf?
From: "jon maretti"
you on the defective avic-n3 unit that you sent me scratched and not working properly with a defective disc. Do you realize that it costs close to $200 for a new disc? You realize that you ripped me off with that crappy unit don't you?
-
It's not even English in the first part. Or Spanish, German or any other known language for that matter.
Give him your cell number, and be sure to record what he says so we can all hear it and laugh. There're a couple sites that will record a conversation on your phone by entering the number you're calling and your own number. They're pretty convenient though they're usually for practical jokes (guilty as charged).
Please keep us updated on this D-Bag.
Quick Update: Google popped up that this guy as a clothing designer, so at least he's a real person and not just some troll. The site looks legit enough.
