My buddy had one of his speakers fall and bump his LG, now there is a big black line going up and down in it, and a couple small lines going across.

Best buy said that it is not covered under warrenty, and that it would be 1800 to replace.

Can something like this be repaired at a TV repair shop, or is it f-d?

Dunno.. but I warn you.. Don't take it to Bill's TV repair or whatever the hell he is called. I'm thinking of the one on 5th Street South in Fargo. Right by 13th Ave. The guy is a total douche bag and will more than likely end up jacking ur money if you take it to him. My dad lost a few thousand to the cunt.

Try going to Gene's TV, they have been around forever and can probably give you an idea on if it is repairable (and BB is right, abuse/neglect/damage is not a warranty issue)

If its a lcd or plasma, its most likely not fixable. I know my 32in lcd developed a line in it and gene's told me the screen would have to be replaced to fix it. so I baught a new one.

Its worth it to at least get a quote. Usually the panel is the most expensive part to fix.
