So, friday i bought a new ride, a 90 TSi, for $1300. The car is all original, 77k miles, 5-speed, plum/grey paint, and has NO RUST. So the story is, in Aug 1996, the original owner put it into the ditch somehow, somewhere, and hit an immovable object of some sort. In doing this he absolutely destroyed the front and rear suspension, ripped the fuel tank open, bent all 4 rims, and ripped the exhaust off. Well, it got put in his shed until i came and got it.
So friday at 4pm, i got this car unloaded. Saturday i had the rear subframe out, swapped diffs, and painted. Yesterday I installed the new tank, rear subframe, and changed the front subframe.
After hooking up the new tank and pump, the car fired right up from its 11 year hatius. About 9:00 last night I had it off the stands, and took it for a test drive. Car ran and drove very nice, needs an alignment, but i was satisfied.
Today i plan to get it rinsed off and ill get a few pics of it posted.

New parts? I just parted out my other one, so i had every nut, bolt, and washer i needed to fix it for free. 😉 All i did was fill any mount i could get to with poly, also kept the 3-bolt rearend for now, but i need to get a 4-bolt sometime
I plan on using it as my DD, and making it pretty for awhile. Plans include:
doing a timing belt and water pump soon
theres a broken stud on the manifold i need to fix
making a full 3" exhaust since it doesnt have one
i imagine it will need a clutch eventually
              tint
              major cleaning
I bought those 17" wheels z31 was selling for it, they look killer on there
fix a couple small oil leaks
Thats pretty much it for now, i dont plan on doing any performance mods on it at the moment, just the free mods. Need to get the buick back on the road first off. I wont be driving it for another month or so anyway, need to get the title for it which could take a little time, or maybe apply for a lost if the guy cant find it, thats just how it is.

didnt break, think it slipped from a weak tensioner. Anyway all the intake valves are bent.
BUT, i guess it isnt a terrible thing to happen, ive just hot a ton of porting to do now, lol. Anyway, its gonna be apart for awhile so im gonna port the head, intake, maybe get a 2g manifold, port the turbo and make a 3" elbow, downpipe, remove all the emmissions shit and clean up the engine bay.

meh, you guys and your dsm hatred. 90% of all dsm problems can be traced to just plain poor maitinence, its simple as that. Even in my case, i knew i had to replace it, but i thought i could at least get it washed first, guess not.
                                          anyway, heres some pics

Exactly, its just a case of an old timing belt that needed to be replaced. Simple as that. Looks good though. :icon_thumleft:
