Kidnapping in Fargo ends with suspect being shot twice in The Meadows neighborhood of Moorhead
An apparent abduction in Fargo ended tonight about 10:45 p.m. in the Meadows neighborhood of Moorhead when the suspected kidnapper was reportedly shot twice and taken to Fargo MeritCare Hospital.
The incident started when a female was kidnapped in Fargo, said Deputy Moorhead Police Chief Bob Larson. The suspected kidnapper stopped the car at O’Reilly Auto Parts in Moorhead, 2537 Highway 10 East, and went into the busi-ness to reportedly rob it at gunpoint, he said. Law enforcement authorities were called to an attempted robbery at O’Reilly at 9:10 p.m. The suspect took off on foot toward The Meadows golf course in the area of 401 34th St. S.
After a manhunt that included the use of a K-9 dog, the suspect was located in the 3500 block of Eighth Avenue South.
“Shots were fired and the suspect went down,” Larson said.
Larson guessed that there were between 10 and 20 shots.
The condition of the suspect is unknown.
No officers or residents were hurt.
Responding to the incident in Moorhead were police departments in Moorhed, Fargo, Dilworth, Glyndon and Hawley, the Clay County Sheriff's Department and the Minnesota State Patrol.

no sh*t. i was passed by 3 fargo cops in moorhead around 10 on the way to mick's. i kinda thought that was a little weird that fargo cops were hauling ass down main.

Dude, lots of crazy shit happened yesterday!!
Johnsons salvage yard in mandan caught on fire and made a hugeass cloud of smoke over mandan and bismarck....
Then on the way home I was following a state patrol with his lights on trying to pull this semi over for a good 15 min, then like 5 or 6 other cops flew past me and got up around him and he pulled over and they got out with guns drawn and shit and i had to sit on the side of the road and wait for them to drag his ass outta the semi and let traffic past.
And then i get to fargo and this happens in moorhead!
Mabye bad things just follow me lol

i was in mandan when that was going on. wierd playing a baseball game with a black sky at 3 in the afternoon. and we mustve just missed the semi incident because we were on our way back at the same time.

oh man....is it just me or are problems in the Fargo/Moorhead Area getting worse?...started with "street racers", went to Grand Theft Auto.....now shootings, kidnapping, and attempted robbery??
this is too much...I dont blame people for leaving this town...

I live in a nice part of town and my house is forsale if anyone is interested.
(I'm moving 5 blocks. Different house came up for sale that "made us move" to get it)
We did have some garage break-ins 2 summers ago but mine was unlocked that night and it was after I tore my old fence out but before I put my new fence up
They stole the radio out of my track car (thanks! I saved 3lbs with your mod!), and I think maybe a screwdriver out of my toolchest (which they used to break into more stuff down the street). -

LOL!!! You think this is bad crime in this city? You missed the early 90's in Moorhead. That was a REAL problem. You must have come from an eskimo village or something because robbery, kidnapping, homicides, etc are all pretty much a given in a metro area of this size.

A girl i know was driving home from work, driving right by those Meadow's Apartments. She got stopped, then started getting waved through. Right as she starts moving the cops jump out of their cars and pull out their guns. She stops and then shots start getting fired at the cops and they return fire. Eventually the cops went running after the guy and she took off. She called me in a fit and I had to decipher what happened and make sure she was ok. She calmed down when she got home.
Messed up stuff... and to think ill be moving to North Minneapolis for the summer.
