Exactly! On all regards...it'll never happen and this election sucks. To me even voting in it is a waste of a vote because I don't want McCain elected nor do I want Obama elected.

Ron Paul is still gonna play a big role in this election

Ron Paul is aiming for a major speaking roll at the National Convention later this summer and Minnesota is not the only place where he and his supporters have shall we say not be greeted with open arms. Take the events at the Nevada State Convention for instance, where Paul supporters fought so hard to get some of his delegates seated that the convention was eventually postponed. In actuality, the Nevada State Convention is not going to be held at all, but the delegates are to be chosen by the party.

Now, John McCain may have more supporters than Ron Paul, and Paul’s supporters are fiercely loyal to him. In recent primaries, Paul has pulled as much as 25% of the vote that John McCain needs in his camp this coming November. And some of the statements he made to the crowd of about 400 of his supporters did hit at the Republican party. For instance, he argued that the Bush administration got us into the war in Iraq by misleading us as to the actual facts.

Paul’s supporters fought on the floor of the Minnesota Convention, which is taking place in St. Paul to get some of his delegates seated, which they feel will lead to Paul getting a speaking spot at the national convention. According to Minnesota State Party Chairman Ron Carey Paul and his supporters are going about it the wrong way and he would have a much better chance of getting a speaking spot if he would throw his support to McCain.

Now, the way I see it a pattern is immuring in the way the state conventions are dealing with Paul and his supporters. They need his support in November, no question about it. So, if he wants to speak and get his message across, then support McCain and get a shot at a speakers roll. Fight on to get his delegates seated, and the road to a speaking roll will be hard if not impossible.

Will Paul throw his support to McCain? Do you believe in miracles? Remember, he said party unity is not his number one agenda. And he has run as a Libertarian in the past. Now, we all know he cannot get the Libertarian nomination this time around. Bob Barr has that already, but just imagine the reaction if Ron Paul were to through his support behind Bob Barr ? Talk about throwing a monkey wrench into the works.

That's awesome..I would've loved to go but it seems like everything happens on such short notice

Republicans fear the size of Obama’s package

Obama is bad news. He's way more socialist than hillary, and unlike hillary who is bought and paid for by established interests (so we can expect her not to change all that much), Obama is a wild card and likes the smell of his own shit.

I recommend all of you buy your AR-15 lowers and get your builds done now. Obama is 100% anti-gun (look at his voting record, especially when he was younger).

Basically with Obama and Mccain we're getting "fucked" and "less fucked". The next president is going to have a shot at something like 3 supreme court appointments.... letting Obama stack the deck with leftist psychopaths is not something I get real excited about.

I think I will end up voting for Obama. He wants to give a better G I Bill to Vets. McCain does not. I am all for it. More money for me to go to school on. Its not like we didnt earn it.

Ron Paul, yeah vote for someone who wants to eliminate federal student loans. So that way our population becomes less educated and the countries future becomes more fucked. Ron Paul is Nuts with encouraging conspiracy's. Paul wants to remove troops from all foreign soils. WTF is that going to help. Nothing. It will make us more vulnerable. He also opposes the Federal War on drugs. Well then where is the money going to come from to fight drugs??? He also voted against more border patrol. Thats great let more illegals in to the country. He is too far out there.

I would rather vote for Hillary than Ron Paul.

On a real note.. I'm not voting. Politics is nothing but a scam.

hahah. The idea is to stop fighting drugs. Although I'm sure our government could figure out a way, you don't need to spend any money to fight drugs once you've decided to stop fighting them.

The "war on drugs" has done a few "Great" things

                    • revoke most of our search & seizure protection laws
                    • put black men in jail at an alarming rate
-- excaberating the problem of most black children growing up fatherless
                    • cost us a shit-ton of money
                    • made drug lords rich, militant, politically relevant players in most of the countries that were trying to build democracies before we re-purposed their economies into drug fiefdoms and made them essentially lawless

I've never smoked, drank alcohol, or done any kind of illegal drugs. Devout mormons (who also abstain from caffiene) are about the only people more straightedge than I am. But I can't be convinced that our federal drug war is worth it. Not when most people in our generation have smoked weed and been fine. Not when most people in hollywood do coke and are never prosecuted for it. The inequality of justice in the drug war and the sheer scale of its infection into our civil liberties really makes me uncomfortable. I'd be fine repealing it all bit by bit.

Seriously, Obama has some kind of messiah complex. Check out this quote from his speech the other nite:

I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.

Apparently, Obama will part the oceans and heal the sick?

What have all those doctors been doing since the hippocratic oath? Not providing care? Only caring for healthy people?

I'm interviewing multiple people this week and next for new jobs (not vacated jobs -- new ones) at my company (one of the largest cash injectors into the Fargo economy, BTW). I might have lost the memo that said "don't start hiring until next week, after Obama creates jobs out of magic fucking unicorn giggles"

The guy is in love with himself, and his fans are eating it up.

His views on the 2nd amendment and the fact that he is about as socialistic as they come make him SCARY. He will destroy the US if he is elected.

So wait...we are voting for a dictator as most of the more conservative posters here seem to think based on comments that he will ban all guns. Obama is probably more likely to get legislation through as a senator in that regards than he is as a president, because as a President, he doesn't get to introduce legislation directly and anything that gets to his desk will have already crossed the desks of the Senators and House members and gotten their approval on (or at least the majority of their approval)...except McCain who will probably miss that vote in the Senate as well...I mean, he has missed more votes than he has participated in in the last couple sessions. I'm a gun owner who has no problem with voting for someone who is seeking some forms of gun control....background checks, holding dealers responsible IF they sell to someone who doesn't pass a background check, etc...

When Obama was restricting his damage to Illinois, he was 100% in favor of a town ordinance that made handgun ownerhsip illegal. When a guy "broke" the law by having a gun in his house, the 2nd nite in a row his house had an attempted robbery, and SHOT the guy robbing his house, Obama was onboard with the rest of the elected officials in that district trying to go after the guy for defending himself. THe jury of course acquitted the homeowner, but Obama and the rest of the town fuckers were looking for other ways to get him. He's as anti-gun as they come. I apologize for not having a link handy, for this story, but here are some others:

                                      http://neveryetmelted.com/?p=3741
                                      http://www.ontheissues.org/Celeb/Barack_Obama_Gun_Control.htm
                                      http://www.issue2008.com/obama-on-gun-control/

Here's the Obama quote you need to see:

I think it is a scandal that this president did not authorize a renewal of the assault weapons ban.

You know damn well that while the president doesn't "write" bills, the president has a lot of say in what ends up making it on or off the house floor. When the Democratic congress pushes a new assault weapons ban in 2009, Obama will sign it. Take it to the bank.

Now, you know that as ardent of a supporter of Ron Paul as I am, I'm not looking forward to choosing between Obama and McCain. But as leftist as Obama is, if I'm stuck between those two choices, I'll choose McCain. If i wanted the socialist dystopia that is Obama's dream I could move to any one of the European nations (well, I couldn't since their immigration laws are bullshit apart from me being in a line of work that's in high demand).

Well, I don't.. I want the person that will do the least amount of damage to the constitution and the ideas of limited governance. Ron Paul is the best shot for that. Obama is unequivocally the WORST for that.

Also interested in Nick's opinion on a quick, cheap AR purchase. Also looking for an AK knock-off as a SHTF/EOTW weapon.
