1991 Suburban 4x4
-
I've got this Suburban that I'm willing to sell. It's PERFECT for a cheap winter vehicle and or tow vehicle. It's a 1991 Chevy Suburban, 4 wheel drive, automatic with OD, power steering, cruise, power locks, power windows, 3rd row seat. It is in decent shape, but not perfect. It's got the typical peeling off light gray GM paint, a little rust, but not too much considering it's age, and some dents here and there, but nothing major. The engine is the big 6.2 diesel and it runs very good. This truck has an aftermarket turbo kit on it also, made by Banks. It's called the Bank's Sidewinder turbo kit, and it has a full Magnaflow exhaust with that. One thing that people might not necessarily like about the truck is the mileage, it has 401K miles on it, yes that is 401,000 miles. BUT it runs and drives really good, and has good oil pressure.
Here's a link to the NADA book value of the truck and that IS with the proper mileage entered: http://www.nadaguides.com/uv/viewresults.aspx?LI=1-11-1-2031-0-0-0&Lnk=1&wSec=11&wPr=1&wPg=2032
Here's a link to a place with that same turbo kit for sale so you can see what's involved: http://www.4wheelerssupply.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/1819
I'm asking $2500 OBO for this truck. If someone wants to check it out either email me, [email protected], or PM me and we can hook it up.

i was wondering (for my own personal wondering), how cold is it before it wont start? my dad has a 91 with a banks kit and if its below 50 it wont start unless its been plugged in for 1/2 hr. or so...yet, another kid i know who has a 90 (i think) with a 6.2 (no turbo) starts at -35 EASILY (his has 300k on motor, 400k on chassis, and my dad's only has 160k)...like he doest give it gas or nothin, just lets the glow plugs warm for 10 seconds and he's off to the races...so yea, jw

Yes Kevin I know the engine needs cleaning, this bitch is old and has a lot of miles!
Torbs, there wasn't a day when this truck didn't start. When it gets really cold out, it takes some cranking, but it will start every day. I usually got it to start by holding the gas pedal to the floor when it was very very cold out. I don't know shit about diesels, so I couldn't tell you what could be done to help that, but I know it does start every day.

aight, thanks...jw, because it seems my dad's is the only one that sucks at starting that i've seen...once its running its fine, but getting it to start sucks...my only guess (and i have no clue if this is right or not or w/e) is that somthing is wrong in the wiring with the glowplugs...somthing around that effect...anywho, back to the task at hand...somebody buy troy's "clug clug clug"diesel!!(make that sound and you sound like a diesel truck...wow im tired)
